Yeah, I knew I was gonna get called  :bs:  on that. But it's true.   I've been working ridiculous hours...in fact, just got home less an hour ago.

It sucks and I am not a happy camper.

I sleep as much as I can but it's not very good sleep. I'm just trying to get through until Labor Day. I'll get a little breather at that point.

Bob, you're not holding the 05 advancer for me, are you? Because I'm riding a 99.  :dunno_white:  I'm really glad you're feeling 99% though!  :thumb: :thumb: :thumb:

I'll do my best...

pandy

So sorry about your grandmother, scratch.

Uhm......

I'm going to have to get back to y'all on this one..... this was my first track day yesterday....

Nice pics :icon_mrgreen:

If you look close you'll see your big mistake.
Using the front brake :2guns:
If you feel you can't make the corner, straighten up the bike and hit the brakes to scrub off as much speed as possible while on the pavement.
Then as you go off the pavement, let go of all the brakes and go straight.
Then gently use the rear brake only to slow down enough to turn if possible.
T-hill has great runoff and solid ground, so that crash was avoidable.
It takes practice to overide the instinct to stay on the brakes.

Good thing you didn't fix the fender ;)

pandy

You called it all spot-on 100% accurate Bob. I didn't know WTF I'd done until I saw the pics...then it glared out at me.  :o

I think perhaps in 10 track days or so, I'll have the instincts to better handle something like that. Definitely huge n00b mistakes with that one... I'm going to read your instructions above every day 'til I've memorized them and made them one with my soul!

I just ordered the new front fairing...I'm thinking of keeping the old broken front fairing and the broken front fender as "track plastics."

I'm ok today as long as I don't laugh, cough, breathe, and ESPECIALLY not sneeze!  :o :cookoo:

I still need to rip up my bike some to make sure the front end's ok. It wasn't riding too well after unloading from the track day and riding it a few miles, but I'm hoping that was just cuz of the low tire pressure.....

Uhm......I'm thinking I'm going to have to postpone my virgin Monterey/Salinas ride.

I didn't think you got hurt when you went down  Sorry to hear it
My chest and collar bone still hurt too :flipoff:
It's that last bit that takes the longet to heal.
Of course, painting and all dosen't help. :icon_mrgreen:

So who thinks they might make it :dunno_white:
I'd like to know so I can make different plans if nobody is coming.

pandy

I came out pretty well..it could have been worse...likely bruised ribs, but there was no way I was gonna let them know at the track, cuz I was afraid they'd pull me off!

I won't make it Sunday :(

Re-schedule? :(

Sept? 13th? 14th? 20th? 21st?

Whoa, Pandy! You have to quit crash testing everything!  :o

Glad you made it out safely though. I love that picture of you sitting in the grass/dirt and there's a dirt cloud in front of you (img 5169); it's like you're sitting on a beach watching the sunset or something.  :icon_mrgreen:

And then the one where both your hands are up (img 5171). You can just hear in the background: "Stand up slowly and keep your hands in the air!"

I'm out, too.   Bob, sorry about this ride falling apart.     You're still the best!  :kiss3:

I'd be down for something in later Sept, too.

Bob Broussard

OK we'll shoot for the 14th of Sept. :thumb:

pandy

14th works for me! I don't have any track days before then, and I'll try to stay out of the way of cagers....  :icon_lol:

That's fine with me

Some of my friends want to ride/drive as well, but as many are coming from SF, they want to stay up near Santa Cruz and Saratoga.  Think we could join forces?

Sorry to say, but I'm not interested in the cluster#^*# up there :2guns:
I really don't like dealing with the traffic, cops, bicyclists and all :bs:

Maybe we should just forget about it :dunno_white:
I can just work on my boat instead :thumb:

pandy

Sorry...I've been totally slammed at work, and this weekend isn't going as planned...  I think this is my third strike, so I'm gonna be locked away for the rest of my life....

AMA superbikes are at Laguna Seca on Sept. 27/28
I have my ticket already :thumb:

We should meet up at the track

I can tell you where to get tickets at the advanced price even on race day.
Shell station on the corner of Blanco Rd and Main St. (Salinas)

I'm going both days, but I'll be heading out pretty early.
