I think the big stinger with all the lights and crap on it is ugly as hell (mudflap) and ruins an otherwise nice looking motorcycle. Can't argue the mechanicals- the FZ6 is a killer bike.

600 cc, Fuel injection, and some killer graphics on that yellow one?!!!  Sweet bike.  I'd ride it.

any color but blue. blue has become a "cookie cutter" color to me. everyone seems to be getting blue bikes.

I'd rather have an 08 fz6 with undertail exhaust.  Dead sexy exhaust, nicer look, and can add fairings on it later or a chin spoiler like the SV.  More plastic=more weight plus more to break when/if you drop it.

It looks dumb, but it's designed like that so you can take the whole thing off with 4 bolts (quick fenderectomy) and either replace with low profile tag holder or relocate tag some where else.

I'm in love with it!  Or maybe just lust.  Either way, I want it for my next bike.  I4-check.  FI-Check. Good for short riders-check.  Good looks-check.  Managable price/insurance-most likely.  Wind Protection-Check.  Light Weight-Check.  It's exactly what I've been looking for.

frankieG

i love it...of course i would mod it a bit to get rid of the under tail and go with clip ons

light weight???  The thing is pushing 500lb wet
GS500E with a bunch of cool stuff!

Relatively light weight.  It's not nearly as light as the SV650SF, but it's much better looking.  Also, I was under the impression that the GSF is likd 443lbs wet, so adding 20lbs. still qualifies as lightweight for me.  Especially compared to the GSX650F (or whatever it's called) or the YZF600R.  I think both of those actually ARE over 500lbs wet.  Maybe my numbers are off, though.

bombadillo

True, I guess I was thinking it was even heavier.  Its not too bad, but I still like the original fz6 the best.  I love my nakeds though

Actually, I really REALLY like he original FZ6.  Not the one with the mini-fairing/dual-headlight, but the one that looks like a factory streetfighter.  I wouldn't mind having one; it looks MEAN.

so HP ratings?, it wasnt on teh spec list  :dunno_white:

i dunno.  :dunno_white: bike isn't apparently available till the first of the year anyways. i like the looks. i'm just hoping that it really is "beginner friendly" and that isn't just some media hype bs.

ugh i think its hideous.
i think the new ninja 650r is much nicer looking, for $500 less.
and i think the sv650 is still a better bet in that price range.

makenzie71

a beginner bike that's $7k and kicks 100hp?  no.  Plus it looks kinda ghey...kinda like they took a 1/24 scale bike and squished it down to fit over 1/18 scale wheels.

frankieG

r we looking at the same bike?  i think it is great

I don't know if it's based on the SR2 engine but you can wiki the FZ6 to get a ballpark figure.  I think the original FZ6 is around 77hp but the American version (SR2) is nearly 100hp.  I'm guessing they're going with the toned-down version but it would be great if it wasn't!

I'm in agreement with frankieG, I don't know what bike you guys are looking at that's "hideous".  Then again, different strokes for different folks.  I really like the Ninja 650 but the FZ6R looks like it should be in the R6S.
