Hey, I finally assessed the damage to my bike... I am gonna need new handlebars.

What are some good replacements?? (Srinath, are you still selling???)

The engine still sounds and runs well, but what are some things to check for damage?

How would you know JamesG... fine... People have reported back saying it was good.. OK.. fine... My shocks are going to be done the same way as the handle bars... Stronger than anything to come out of suzuki... Please the original shock is a joke. The one I put in from probably a sling shot GSXR is better, but its going to be no match for what it will be after rebuilding... Nothing I make is going to be inferior than stock. Anyway... No need to carry this over 2 threads...

Yes he was referring to that... But what I am saying is that... it will still be better than stock, no matter what. I will not sell anything That I have not tested to destruction, and improved on and destroyed and improved over and over and dont use myself. The shock... when done it will be better than it ever was.

They look really slick, and I am sure they are well worth it.

How are they positioned compared to the stock h.bars?

If you fit them on a 90+ GS they would feel like the 89... Just a little wider and ~3/4 inch lower. But the overall feeling is just like the 89. The angle and weight of the bars keeps the vibes down, and you get a sportier, and comfier (It even sounds like an oxymoron... but its true cos the stock bars were just plain wrong and hence bad on both counts). Further they are thick wall... try 3/16th wall... over twice the stock... making it much harder to bend in a crash or a drop. They wont fit an 89 with the clip on's BTW. All the other hardware will fit on it easily... You just have to either drill a hole in the bar for the plastic nub in your left side switch housing, but that will prevent you from rotating it much... or shave off the nub and fit it, and rotating the switches will be easy.
That's basically it. Bar end weights or mirrors wont fit the bar unless you put in a nut inside and weld it to which the fitting can screw to. Weights wont be nneded cos the bar itself weighs right about what a stock bar weighs with weights etc. So it vibrates a lot less.

I'm wondering if your bars also allow the use of a windshield - like the National Cycle screens that attach to the handlebars?

I like your bars, but I need the screen - so it's really up to whether or not they will hold the windshield...

Well If it has to clamp onto the bars... I'd say probably not. The givi one fit quite nicely in Derrick's bike and I didn't know it would... so I dont know... I have not tested for fit with any fairing/windscreen so I guess I have no definite answer.
