So I spent the last part of the weekend wrenching a bit, here's the outcome.

Chopped fender, took off rear reflectors, flipped front reflectors,  Lockhart phillips stinger blinkers, ProGrip tank pad and grips, Lockhart phillips bar ends, and some carbon-look hand controls, silver pin-stripe on the wheels, LED tail bulbs, blue LED gauge bulbs.

Came out nice for less than 100 bucks!

A couple more noticeable before/after pics.

I will say the hardest part of these mods was the removal of the old grips. The previous owner decided to LIQUID NAIL the grips on. Not only that but they were HEATED grips... GRRR!!!!! Took a long time with a dremel, hack-saw, and screw driver to get these things off with no damage to the throttle/bars.

The worst part of the whole thing was, when I took the throttle grip off I noticed that someone had chopped the end of the bar down about 3/4ths of an inch INTO the internal bar end mount. So, I had to grind a taper to the end of the throttle side bar end so that it would mount flush to the bars.

Also, the Lockhart Phillips ends that I got are really nice, the only problem is that the stock bolts they come with are about 1/2 an inch too long for the internal mount and need to be chopped down or replaced with shorter bolts. I'm actually going to change mine out for some black ones soon.

The only other issue i had was with the carbon-look controls. The clutch side had to be worked back and forth until it would fully release back to the mount after letting the clutch go. It almost acted as if the cable wasn't tight enough. I believe this was just due to the paint/decal on the outside of the handle.

Other than that I think it looks pretty cherry! May go with some longer bar ends in the future but this is nice for now... a lot nicer than those stuuupid hot-grips at least. There was NO give to those things..

very nice looking bike friend. could you take some pictures of the signals working, during the day please ?

( night pictures -never- really show how the signals look thanks to digital cameras )

Looks great--I'm interested in the same thing...how bright are the blinkers?  Where did you get them?
1994 GS--Sonic springs, K & N, 15T, bar end mirrors, V & H exhaust, katana shock and new paint coming...

Nice!  Those blinkers are small!  They look cooler, thats for sure.  But Im wondering too how well they show.

As far as the fenderectomy u did:  did u basically just cut off the bottom half of the mud guard/fender?  Looks pretty good...   :thumb:

My 2001 GS500 was totalled Nov 4 2008
Now own 2003 SV1000 and love it!

To answer all at once:

The signals are bright but not blinding during the day-time by any-means. They are Lockhart Phillips and I got them from MotoSport.com, you can chose clear or amber lenses, both sets blink amber. I had to install these small rectifiers to even out the blinking pattern, but after that they were an easy install.

I will take pics in the AM (if not a short video of the blinkers working... which i may have already).

The fenderectomy was just that. I want to go more aggressive though and move the blinkers up to right under the rear bodywork. I just took a dremel and made both the side cuts first then did an M or V shape down to the center of the license plate, then just chopped it off flat under that little rubber nub the plate backs up against. Took all of 5 minutes and you can do it with the fender on the bike.

I'll see if I cant get that vid up tonight boys.

Just keep in mind that the camera takes a couple seconds to adjust to the headlight/tail light/sunlight going on... they're brighter in person. I'll see if I can't do a snap-shot or two, the digi camera has much better res than the digi video.

Looks good!  The carbon fiber version of the pegs in the wiki would match those
levers nicely.  I have them on my bike and started to order the levers but painted my stock levers instead.
