I screwed my gas cap assembly on my 92 GS500, and I'm having a hell of a time finding a replacement. I would like an OEM with key or even an aftermarket allloy type without key, willing to buy and pay shipping. Please advise if you can help me out, or have any advice.

Thanks

Black

If anyones interested, I found a gas cap, the seller had me take some measurements and assures me it will fit, the price is very reasonable.

will advise when it gets here as to quality and fitment.

i have that key-less one listed on ebay on my bike...works great

Fits the 4 holes well, but im not 100% of the seal between the tank and the assembly...if i turn it upside down with the cap tight some gas (like a few drops) leaks out around outer edge, but having said that, im very happy with it, looks great, fits well, and is top quality cnc work for an awesome price...

I asked that seller on eBay about those key less gas caps as they only use 4 bolts instead of the standard 7 used on the OEM cap. He first said that they wouldn't fit and then changed his mind and said they did. Good to hear they fit but disappointed to know they don't seal properly. I'd be worried about rain water getting into the tank which will cause all sorts of problems down the road.

if you remove your oem cap you'll see that 4 of the 8 bolts are "dummy" bolts - just for looks :) the cnc one has the 4 in the same place as the oem does. As for the seal, your right, this bike is going to be ridden in fair weather and garaged, so shouldnt be an issue for me....
