Damn f%$king phone had an aneurysm.  Fortunately I backed it up a few days ago.  The big problem was it not wanting to connect to the laptop.  I eventually got it in recovery mode and updated/restored.................it's re-synching a shaZam! ton of Apps and music now, shouldn't take more than an hour (3g isn't compatible with the firewire 30 pin cables for some reason)

If you have an iPhone and have software 2.0.2, UPDATE IT IMMEDIATELY there is an issue with instability if you have a lot of Apps that is supposedly solved in 2.1

Deep breaths mate........deep breaths.

Everything is OK now.  It updated and restored successfully, though it took nearly 2 hours :icon_rolleyes:

On the bright side, an Army bud of mine that's working recruiting called me and told me that he's pretty sure he can get me a slot in Pathfinder school if I go back Army.

frankieG

ahh pathfinders bunch of pussies :)  good for you.  i know you want back into the fight and i understand that.  even though i am past my prime, and i know it, i still at times want back into it.  there is just something inside a soldier that calls him to battle. no matter how beat up or old he may get he is still a warrior at heart.  as a friend i would worry about you if you went back over there.  but as a officer i know this is what you must do and i support it.

ohgood

there was a iphone stolen from the bbq pit i just picked up supper at.

apparently it's 'cool' to place your uber-new cell phone on a table, with some screen saver playing, to reserve your table now ?

apparently it's also really easy to pick up a phone that's worth $300-400 and walk out the door with it.

the was in line, maybe 10 feet from where he said he left it.

idiot ?

LMAO!!!!! that shaZam! is great slash sad.  he is a total f%$king idiot for leaving his phone unattended.  And the guy that stole it is a total piece of shaZam!.  Regardless its funny.
Im proud of your decision to go back in spc. Just be careful.  Ive been conemplating it myself(going back in).  And I think I may.  Maybe Ill finish basic this time :dunno_white:.  I gotta get my leg conditioned first then go from there. Im thinking I may go Pararescue. Local A.N.G. has them.

ok, here's a little bit of tech fun.........  I'm using my iphone as a wireless mouse and keyboard for my laptop.  It's pretty neat

shiznizbiz, as much as I bash PJ's, their training is nothing to be taken lightly, make sure you are in peak condition.  If you really want to go back in the Army Guard has gotten pretty resourceful on med waivers and the like and has some of the best bonuses around, all while being able to guarantee you a specific MOS.  From what I've heard and experienced the Ch....I mean Air Force isn't all that motivated to put new people in.   Lets not also forget that every branch comes to us for Airborne and Combat Diver qualifications (there's a couple of others, but I'm brainfried right now)

shiznizbiz

yeah, The army I think is the only branch that can garuantee you your MOS granted you make it through all your training. This much I know.  lol.  I had a RAnger contract with Special Forces intent in 2004.  I wouldve made it too if I wouldnt have had a freak accident in basic. Thats niether here nor there.  I just always had this attraction to pararescue.  Fits my personality. im gettign ready to start emt school in a few weeks after all.
Conditioning is a top priority.  I need to figure out if this leg can take the punishment first off.  Then if all is well then forward is the direction I will go. If not, then I will believe the Docs in the army who said I may not be able to serve ever. hopefully ill be able to give them a big  :flipoff:
So far, A one legged pistol squat with 75 lbs +body  weight on the right leg is good.  The left(injured) can only do half way with bodywieght.  Im workign that on that.

Ughhh,  PJ's have to be nice to people...........not my style.  If you end up giving thought to the Army, check with a guard recruiter.  Tell him you want to be in the closest LRSC unit, they get shaZam! TONS of Pathfinder/Ranger/Airborne etc slots........

I hope to get my deadlift back over 500 before I go, and I have a couple of other goals including getting my run times back in check.  I tend to be the jackass that makes a 260 APFT and barely passes the run :icon_rolleyes: I want to get that up to about 275.

As long as your injury wasn't to the knee, you should be able to waiver in without much problem if you get the strength back up.  Past that the AF may get finnicky, hell the Army doesn't look kindly on knee injuries.

shiznizbiz

Yeah, Its the ghey ole Illiotibial Band sydrome (a lil bit more complicated though) that just so happened to be bad enough they deemed it discharge worthy despite me fighting for a desk job if nothing else.
