I know it's nothing to do with GS500 s...........

Just heard the good news about Saddam's capture, may I be the first from this side of the pond to say well done!

Now maybe things will calm down a little for all the people out there.

It is not good enough to say that we are trying our best. We must succeed in doing what is necessary.

Great news indeed but I have a couple worries.

Turning him over to the Iraq gov. council. How much can they be trusted, we are not dealing w/ a democracy yet. I believe they can be trusted but will they follow through w/ a sentenceing and trial procedure like our gov. would like(a human and just trial)? If he is sentenced to say death, will it be a barbaric ritual death that could insight a resistance making saddam a marter?

How do we know things wont slip back into the hands of another dictator? I think our gov. still has to play a role and keep their hand in the sentencing and trial while still allowing the Iraqs to be in control and decide his fate. The U.S. needs to keep a hand on the controls but not seem to be steering the fate of the Iraqs. I'm worried its too much of a balancing act.

They say we get your weather about 20 days later, could you send some warm sunshine and little  fluffy clouds, about 70 degrees would be a good.

Happy Christmas to you all

give him a taste of his own punishment, stone him half to death, cut off one hand, and then let him be impailed, but only after you beat the bottom of his feet with a hose.

It's great that they caught him and all, but I think they need to be VERY careful how they deal with him or things could get even more ugly than they are now.

As tempting as it may be to lynch him (and certainly he deserves as much), doing so could have nasty repercussions.

Good news though  :thumb:

It's probably too much to hope for, but two words came to mind when I head of his capture... SWIFT JUSTICE.

Some people talk about how much he deserves to be tortured or punished for the rest of his life.. that death isn't good enough for him... maybe that's just rhetoric, but I say lets get this done quickly.  No amount of suffering on his part will ever begin to equal the suffering he has caused.  Whoever is given the authority to deal with him, be it International or Iraqi, I hope they either execute him, or put him in a hole for life and LETS MOVE ON  :thumb:

im thinkin do to him what he did to his people, gas-em,but first cut off various body parts fingers hands, pee pee!!!! :dunno: , then gas him, but then again, it may to his loyalists make him a martyr. hmmmm maybe life in a kurdish prison? dunno, the violence i fear will continue. especially when his trial comes up. but someone more than likely will take his place :(  :dunno:

Executing Saddam is too quick a death for this bastard.  My recomendation for his punishment would be, for the rest of his life,  to be Buddha Loves You-slapped, cursed, and spat on, just one time each, from every living relative of those he had butchered in wars, those he had murdered or tortured as an enemy of the regime, or from ethnic cleansing.  Eight hours a day of that for the rest of his life would provide him with a taste of what waits for him eternally in Hell.  :x

My thoughts and prayers go out for our servicemen and women over there who will have their lives on the line, for what will probably be years.  I fear this is far from over.

How about giving him a sex change and shipping him(her) back to Iraq?

Iraq was/is a pretty progressive country by arab standards.  About the only decent thing Saddam did was give women more or less equal rights as men.

Let the Iraqis try him according to Islamic law and execute him according to Muslem tradition.
I think Saddam knows he isn't going to paradise, which is why he wasn't in a hurry to go out in a blaze of gunfire.

Well, up here in NE Pennsylvania, there is about a foot of snow.

Now for Sadam...

Put him in a max security prison for life. Let the inmates teach him a lesson. They'll do a number on his rectum.
