I  am thinking of putting a rz350 or banshee 350 2-stroke in my GS500. Does anyone have any experience with this type of swap? Im a big smoke head a heart and love those little 2 bangers that aren't on the street that much. I use my bike mostly as recreation and it seems like its getting harder and harder to find a unique mod that everyone and their brother hasn't done in one way or another. The rz350 weighed in at roughly the same weight as the GS, a mean ass powerband that tachs out @ 14000 rpm's and could pick the front wheel up @ 7000 rpm's just by opening it up, i believe RWHP was around like 60 HP + mods. Maybe i can put a VFR Single sided swingarm and front end on it. Or should I just try and cram it into an old rs50 GP style frame so its registered as a moped  If it ain't Smokin', it must be Broken

Sounds like a cool idea... but if your state does inspections, you'll NEVER PASS EMISSIONS. Use a street motor in a street bike.

See if you can find an old Kawasaki 3 cylinder or something if you're jazzing for a 2 stroke. I think they made them in 400, 500 and 750 configurations.

Look up KH750 motors... they're insane.

I live in NC and they do inspections but they only do safety for anything pre 1996, 1996 on have emissions checks as well. My GS is titled as a 1991 so that shouldnt be a problem. Thanks for showing me that kaw, ive never seen on like that. The TZ750 is an out of reach dream, but there could be some hope for me w/ a larger cc 2 stroke!

the RZ would be much sexier in a FZR 400 chassis / RG 250 chassis / or other ALUMINUM chassis...86-87 TZ250 chassis were fwd exhaust
of course there were only 10 TZ's imported in 86.....
want Iain's money to support my butt in kens shop

Exactly ! why dont I just import one from Japan now? i have a buddy with an rz350 frame and title, but he also suggested to go with the fzr400, aluminum, light, newer tech. But I just want a road worthy 2 Banger. Whats my best option, $ wise? Motor swap banshee, 500 h1, 750 h2 if im lucky, or go with an old trusty 78 or so rd400 with about a year of restoration with some new tech mods ie... tires, swingarm, R shock, FE, solo tail? Sorry i just got to many ideas.
