we have just over 17,000 pictures in our iPhoto library. that's 50+ Gb of photos.

google's wizards of code crunched through 4Gb of photos we have online in about 45 minutes, linking all the photos that were of the same person, asking us what we would like to name those people, and then arranged them in temporary 'books'.

simply amazing. and uncanny how right it was too. if you have picasa web albums, check it out.
