Tried to start my bike today, been siting outside under a tarp for a day.

In neutral with full choke, and it just goes click click click.  I tried again and the click was allot louder, so I stopped and drove the car to work.

Where do I start? new Battery?

Please help if you can.

+1 for battery... charge it.  If it does it again, buy a new one.  They're cheap-ish.

If it is your battery (check the voltage, and try bump-starting it), make sure you're getting a charging voltage with your bike running.

they aren't cheap-ish, especially if you want to buy exact replacement. You will have to cash out around 70 bucks for battery + around $5 for acid.
you can get a cheaper replacement at walmart with the vent hose on the opposite side to the original, but it works well too! (costs about 40-50)

I don't know how dry or gel abtteries work or how much they cost.

before you buy a battery take yours to any store that sells batteries, they should test yours for free.

good luck

Thanks for all the input!  :thumb:

I found some jumper cables and jumped the bike.  It started right up when it was connected to my car, lol.

I let the bike run for about 5 mins, and drove back to work.

During the ride here, around 1000-3000 rpm it feels sluggish. But when its at a higher rpm it sounds normal.
Anyone got an idea?

It's a GS500 - it should feel sluggish across more of the rev range.   :flipoff: ;)

Did you check for a charging voltage?

TwoWheelRida

No, I have no clue how to check voltage.

I'm guessing I could take it to Cycle Specialties, but their retarded over there.

Splash out on a new battery - mine was $45 at Advance Auto . Add 2 new plugs for a few bucks. Peace of mind - priceless.

No, I have no clue how to check voltage.

Get a multimeter (they're cheap and useful).

Then do this.

If your charging system has taken a crap, a new battery will just drain down.  I bought my bike uncharging, traced it to the solenoid as per that method, replaced that, and it works perfectly.  Ten minutes of diagnosis beats throwing money at the problem.

HER DIARY:
Tonight, I thought my husband was acting weird.

We had made plans to
meet at a bar to have a drink.

I was shopping with my friends all day
long, so I thought he was upset at the fact that I was a bit late, but
he made no comment on it.

Conversation wasn't flowing, so I suggested
that we go somewhere quiet so we could talk.

He agreed, but he didn't
say much. I asked him what was wrong; he said, 'Nothing.

' I asked him
if it was my fault that he was upset.

He said he wasn't upset, that it had
nothing to do with me, and not to worry about it.

On the way home, I
told him that I loved him. He smiled slightly, and kept driving.

I can't
explain his behavior.

I don't know why he didn't say, 'I love you,
too.

'
When we got home, I felt as if I had lost him completely, as if he
wanted nothing to do with me anymore.

He just sat there quietly, and
watched TV. He continued to seem distant and absent.

Finally, with
silence all around us, I decided to go to bed.

About 15 minutes later,
he came to bed.

To my surprise, he responded to my caress, and we made
love.

But I still felt that he was distracted, and his thoughts were
somewhere else. He fell asleep - I cried. I don't know what to do.

I'm
almost sure that his thoughts are with someone else. My life is a disaster.
