i have a 1992 gs500 and i was told i could change the forks for a better ride.  could i use a gsxr front fork and rear shock?  if so what year and size bike would work the best?  in search of a better cornering bike.  thanks

Kat FE and GSXR shock ... we did mm75658's 07 2 weeks ago ... he picked up a wiggle which I dunno what is going on now ... he had 43psi in the tire ... told him to start dropping 1-2 psi and test running last I PM'ed him.
I got GSXR shocks $75 and comes with a linkage you'd use to fit it, need your linkage back after your swap ...
On a kat FE, I am gonna say ... I'll machine and do other stuff for you if you like ... but whole FE's I'd not take on at this time, too many waiting and too little time ... This is bound to cost ya 400 bucks at the cheapest ... trade off is longer brake disc and pad life and better handling, as well as some ease of manitenance like fork seals etc ...
Cool.

yes you can
all depends on your wallet and fabrication skills
anything can be made to fit
will it work worth a damn......maybe....depends on the parts chosen

You can get a GSX-R front end on.  It is not straightforward, and I very much doubt your speedo/odo could be made to work.  You could hook up a Trailtech Vapor or the like, though, to replace the stock cluster.

1988-1995 GSXR 750 is the easiest GSXR forks to fit(90-95 is USD) all are fully adjustable and have cable speedo drive
89-95 GSXR 750 shock is the easiest GSXR shock to fit(90-95 are better)
raises the tail about 2 inches

could you change the swingarm as well?

You dont have to ... though anything from a hawk to a RGV can be lightly modded or not to fit.
I think GSXR ones have to be milled a bit RGV's fit straight on I think ...
