Hello

Okay this might be the most stupidest questions a gs500F owner can ask....but I really don't know how to turn the ignition on the bike. I am currently taking those motorcycle courses and the bike they provide me has a lil button i push on.....but I can't find anything similar on the gs500f...The bike is now sitting in the garage for storage and I just want to turn it up for the weekly warming thingy....

If any one can give me pictures with arrows and directions....it will be awesome!! And sorry for my stupidity...

Fuel - petcock (vac on a GS don't need to mess with it
Ignition - turn the key to ON
Nutral - make sure the gear selector is in nutral
Engine - make sure the RED ingnion switch is ON
Clutch - pull the clutch in

then hit the start button on the right grip on the underside of it a mirror of the horn button

Well, you turn the key in the middle of the handlebars to "on", flip the kill switch to "run" (red switch on top of the left handlebar- attached to the throttle), make sure it is in neutral (green light on), set the choke, pull in the clutch (lever on the left), and hit the starter button (on the left grip same type of switch as the horn) Honestly if you don't know how to do this, you may want to get an owners manual or have someone that knows show you before you attempt to throw a leg over that bike- we don't want to read another thread about someone that started his bike and launched into traffic and ended up a hood ornament on somebody's Super Duty...

the throttle, killswitch and start button are on the right handlebar not the left

On my bike course they suggested beginners simply to remember to go through the controls from 'left to right'.  Starting at the left and travelling up and across the handlebar: kickstand up, select neutral, clutch in, choke if required, ignition key to on, kill switch to run, then hit the starter.  :thumb:
