Hey guys, long time no post from me - been playing with other bikes... but still keepin the ole GS around.

Went to ride it today, started up albeit weakly.  Rode to the bike shop to deal with another totalled bike and when I left nothing.  I get the Click from the solenoid and thats it.  Guys in the shop said OOP BAD BATTERY buy a new one we have one in stock .... :cookoo: :cookoo: :cookoo: :cookoo:  Trying to make a sale of course.

I bump started and rode home.  Put in a brand new battery from another one of my bikes an identical problem.

I then jumped the 2 lugs on the starter solenoid and she fired right up.  A good sign - no broken starter motor or stuck clutch etc.

Sooo... Im thinking replace the starter solenoid and I should be rockin and rollin, correct?

Yep...... I could agree with that........... burnt contacts on the HT side is a strong possibility but first make sure you have got the full 12v on the yellow/green wire to the solenoid when the starter button is pressed, this will rule out any issues on the LT side.

+1 on that, it's the solenoid. I have had that happen on trucks and bikes before.
