Other than a lack of truly interesting riding roads in florida you in general suck. Especially the Tampa/St. Pete area. If I lived in florida that's where I would choose.
Why didn't you just go the whole way and buy me a f@#king Kawasaki you bastards.

jrains89

your mother shouldn't retire if she cannot afford it. that defeats the purpose.

I have family in the st. pete area right near treasure Island in some high rise condominium. I love it down there but a week in the hot and humid is too much for me. I'm cold blooded.

lack of seasons, lack of roads that turn, lack of hills... yes sir, i'm with you there, and i moved away from tampa because of it.

frankie- make sure you know what the taxes are before you and ma relocate. in some areas they are quite rediculous ! insane !

st pete and tampa have great sport bike communities, and if you're still interested in working at a dealer you should have no trouble at all at Barney's or any one of the million little shops.

check out Pure Acceleration when you get there. It's in Tampa, but man, you will -not- find a better bunch of folks to deal/ride/piss off with. Don't leave your keys in your bike !!!!!!!

good luck with florida, watch out for drunks after 8pm !

If either of you have ANY money..............meaning even one red cent............and you get anywhere NEAR Clearwater, Florida.......
be ON THE LOOKOUT for the "Church" of Scientology.........they are a blood sucking parasitic org. and will drain you of all that you have. Stay AWAY from them. They have NOTHING to do with a "Church" and EVERYTHING to do with a CULT. They will "bleed you dry" if you allow it and attempt to take everything that you own. Never forget what I just told you Frankie, no matter how smart you think you are. You're gonna have to trust me on this one and I ain't bull s h i t t i n '  ya.

+bump for the rant about CofSCI, they're everywhere, annoying, and pushy

Ybor has a 'Church' there, and it's funny to watch young, impressionable men/women approach you with pamphlets and offer 'free readings' of your stress levels.

Sure, yes, I want to walk into a church when I'm drunk and check my stress levels. Riiiiight. ;)

frankie, i know of a few really nice people to ride with in tampa/st pete, they'll help you get a job/life there, and keep you free of those demons. i should have been more positive in my first post. change is good, and i hadn't thought of that at the time.

enjoy the beach, rock the 'north runs' and enjoy the folks. they're goood people !

OK, now, I know you have "facts" to spout out about everything so.....

Funny  My brother-in-law and sister are Scientologist When they started they lived in a van in Arizona ( no not down by a river :) )They had NO money, Now they make about an easy milion+ a year, He has a 05 Hummer, 08 Lotus, Mazda 3 and some misc bikes. Lives in a 2.5 Mil house in the LA Hills and He has been in it for years and owes his entire business plan to what he learned from Scientology. Both of their children are MENSA and graduated college before the age of 20 and hold down jobs making more money than I could ever dream of.

Now I can tell you its not for everyone but if you practice what they teach and don't just "think" you can become a better person by spending some $$$ on classes you can learn a lot from them.

I can name HUNDREDS of successfull Scientologists who wouldn't have what they have w/o good ole El Ron Hubbard :icon_mrgreen:

That said, some of the crap they do is strange, (WAY OUT THERE!) you just have to involve yourself w/ the right people and you can learn things you would never have imagined possible. Ignore the "strange" and listen to the good and you can go far. Personally for Catholics I think its Strange to take communion every week or more, Party down at church festivals and drink and gamble although most "Catholics say thats wrong" ??? Believe 100% whole heartedly a book that is pure fiction. (PROVE ITS NOT!) worship a cross that killed someone, keel down and pray to Mary and confess sins to some dude in a secret box because he can magicly make it like they never happened, but most of you think thats normal and OK right ???

I can assure you Scientology is no cult, I have been to many of their "churches" (btw its a "Church" for tax reasons not because they worship anything ) they have no beliefs as far as God or Allah or any of that, they leave all that up to you, if you want to be a Christian and a Scientologist, all power to ya... As a mater of fact my Sister is a Catholic and still goes to a Catholic church too... And teaches bible study there  :flipoff: they solely tech you how to better you life and your interactions with others in yout life.

Like I said, they do some fairly strange stuff, and some of their ideas are WAY OUT THERE ( just like every "religion") but 90% is VERY VERY beneficial and if applied to everyday life can make you  and the people around more focused and better people.

While I only follow some of their "Ideals" I do find that what I have learned helped ALOT in my life, some of what they say I write off as BS but allot makes great sense.....

As far as Money, yea, they make you pay $$$ for classes, some can help you some just dint make sense. So far I have bought a few books and visited some cool places they have in LA, I even met Cirsty Alley and John Travolta  :icon_mrgreen: ( Both hard core Scientologists.) The classes are primarily to benefit you, your life, family, work and the people around you, and if you apply what you learn there you can accomplish AWESOME things... Like going from living in a van to living in the Hills of LA in a 2.5 Mil house.

Take from them what you will, there are crazy radicals in every religion... look at the freaks standing on boxes by the street telling you you are going to hell be cause you don't wear old ass homemade clothes like they do ??? How about the Catholics that pass around a plate to collect money from people a few times a week ??? thats not taking money away from people w/o reason? You know what kinda cars some of the priests around here drive.. Mercs, BMW, yea, kinda high end for working for Jesus I think... My friends dad is a Catholic priest and owns 2 houses worth both over 500K, has a plasma TV, Harley even bought his son a $10K wedding gift !!! all while some members of his "church" can barely afford to eat. yet every sunday they put $20 in an envelope to make "God" happy ??? So yes, get involved w/ the wrong scientologists and you will waste a ton of $$$ Find the right ones and they will help you become everything you hoped you could be and then some.

Its everyones nature to follow someone, personally I follow my own religion I don't give money to any church so they can have a nicer car than me, I don't pray to Mary, I don't kneel down and pray at night, and I sure don't want anyone telling me how to live my life "the godly way" I make my life and others lifes better by giving directly to those that need it, bypass the crooked middle men...

To each his own.... now I'm going to go drink a beer, smoke a fatty and watch some porn  :flipoff:
