I saw a GS500F on clark st in lincoln park with the cleanest nicest looking Yoshimura TRS install I've seen. Anyone here?

Just got a 2004 GS500F last week. I have it in to mech to have the carbs cleaned. The bike has 1800 miles on it so lots of stuff probably needs to be cleaned and checked. In any event I live west of Elgin in the Rockford area. Not sure if that counts as Chicago area (90 miles west).  Any advice for a newbie with this bike from your experiences so far.
