I want to do it manually...but how can I make it look like this...or where to get this kit?

I want rear flush mounted signals though, where can I get ones that can be shipped to Canada for 07 GS500F?
thanks

vorBH

Trying to find a link to the pic, but cant find one, hopefully someone can help out here....it's the one with turn signals attached to licence plate

vorBH

Can I not just cut off up to the section where it just cleans out anything sticking out....then screw a bracket in somewhere to mount plates?

tripleb

you mean like this?

just cut it off, remount the license plate bracket right underneath the tail light and attach the turn signals.

All you really need are:
1. Turn signals: You can shorten the stock ones to get a more compact look or you can get after market ones.  There are crap-tons of good sites to get signals from.

2. Cutting apparati: A variable speed cutter (dremel, air) is awesome, feel free to get creative i used a propane torch to smooth the cut after the fact.  Wouldn't advise it though if you get to close or hold to long things go bad quick but practicing on a cut piece to get the feel for it helps.

3. Patience and/or beer: the rest comes from the crap you cut off.

Warning: If all else fails find MacGyver, he'll know what to do.

I'd keep the stock signals, or if you replace them, replace them with stock signals from another bike.  I have yet to see aftermarket singals that are close to as bright/visible as stockers.

+1 on the rotary tool.  I have a Craftsman clone of a Dremel that has paid for itself many times over.

The fender elimination on my WR didn't cost a dime, is just as visible as stock, and is cleaner.  Measure three times before you cut, then cut more conservatively when you start.  You can always trim more, but you can't add back. ;)

i'll be shortening my signals soon.
i have to get my bike first :D

I like my aftermarket turn signals and they are considerably brighter than stock. They are LED and were fun to put on but looked good!
The PO did my fenderectomy but left enough for the lights.

those will work, although you should know that they say they're not DOT approved and you could run into trouble using them.

1. I presume you meant trouble with the law?...and not electrical problems...

2. I checked the wire connections for the rear lights today.....saw that it splits from the one wire coming from the light fixture itself....will these lights work for the rear? I'll just have to do some drilling into the rear tail right? http://cgi.ebay.ca/SUZUKI-GSXR-600-750-1000-CBR-FLUSH-MOUNT-SIGNALS_W0QQitemZ220307936280QQcmdZViewItemQQptZMotorcycles_Parts_Accessories?hash=item220307936280&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=72%3A1215|66%3A2|65%3A12|39%3A1|240%3A1318

nascarkeith: It looks really nice, I went through your guide but theres some parts I dot understand...like Reply #6 in your guide...the pics of the painted metal pieces..I don't understand them

Also, The black plastic still showing (the part you wanted to paint white)...is it possible to remove it as well, or should it stay there? I think it'll look sharper with it gone

If I may, here's my "third way" to the rear fender customization. ;)

I did mine and it came out similar to Nascarkeith's.

I want mine to look exactly like that...except I'll try to see if I can do anything about that extra plastic on the bottom sticking out...still looks great tho

I got both the turn signals and the license plate mounting kit at the local Cycle Gear.  The lights were $15 and the license mounting kit was either $20 or $30.  It makes it real easy to mount any size lights  :thumb:

Limey Yankee that looks really good.  I like the carbon fiber signals.

vorBH The flat piece fills in the bottom of the mud flap that I cut out and the bent piece is what I made to mount the license plate too.
