there is a east and west coast valve adjustment kit. you put your name on the list, it arrives, adjust (included shims) toss in some cash (nice touch), and pay to ship to the next guy.

watch the video (included also, thanks kerry!) if you have questions about the process :)

or maybe you knew all this, and just needed shims. sorry, i don't have any. they're all in the kit. :)

I went to the local zuki dealer, and went to service (not parts).  Charged me $5 per shim.  They'll try and order them at the parts counter, service has a "master set" 

it was easier read:quicker than putting my name on a list and waiting a few months to get the kit from here.

So ... how you plan on getting the shim out ... using a screw driver like my friend (who will not be named here) and bending the valve ...  :thumb:

Cant you just use a strong magnet or something to get them out?

You can spin the bucket till its notch faces the engine shaft line.
Then, insert a jeweler's screwdriver (i.e., the ones people use to tighten those tiny eyeglasses screws) in this notch to pop the shim out, and pick it up using needle-nose pliers or a magnet.
If you haven't a thin magnet at hand, a DIY option is magnetizing a normal screwdriver by rubbing a magnet (i.e., an old loudspeaker's) on it. It'll last long enough to do the job.
Anyway, some folks here do not wholeheartedly recommend using a magnet because the shim(s) could get magnetized in its turn, attracting small metal shaves that otherwise would float around the engine.

Well, since I'm and ace Master tech on Bmw and Mercedes,  I don't think the gs will be much of a challenge  :flipoff:  I just pulled the cams and pulled the shims and the buckets out with a magnet, removed the head, did a quick valve job and now I just need new shims for final re-assmembly and there is only one suzuki dealer in my area and they suck to deal with...  So, is this "east/west cost shim kit around? I'm not in a super hurry cause I'm doing lots of other mods to lil bro's gs.
