Yea good lord, the album came out before it became a reality.
Anyway, who heard it, how is it ??? I am yet to buy, but may hit beast buy and buy one ... first time in many many years buying a CD at face $. What I heard, I like so far. Supposed to have 3-4 good songs then turns a bit too stuffy and over done. I heard.
Cool.

Yes, I've heard basically the same, some good and the rest overdone. And that he's been thru a lot of musicians along the way creating this album. 17 years if I remember the article right. I'll have to wait and see I guess.

Cant say that im not curious.. though the last record i bought was appetite for destruction. It was the only record my mother took away from me when i was a little kid. I had to keep dubbing my friends copies as she would take them. I think it was the song about dope which pushed her over. Damn you mr brownstone.

Meh.
They were better with the Bucket.

I once had a dream where I was at a guns and roses concert and they were playing sweet child of mine...only buckethead didn't have a guitar.  He had a table with three cats stretched out on it and he was beating them with another cat.  It sounded awesome.

Chinese democracy is over produced, though...even for 80's band come backs...almost as bad as the eagles and ac/dc's new things...

I'll pass on it, every thing after appetite for destruction was crap

Would replace Axsuckle.

The "overproduced" thing happens with every band.  Listen to Tool's first two albums, then the third.  Listen to Bleach, and then Nevermind.  It's something about being able to afford better sound engineers, I guess.
They threw out most of the material for the new album once they heard the Bucket try-out for the band, then he helped collaborate new stuff with them.  He's not really in his "sell-out" phase, yet, so I'm guessing that the overmixing happened after he left the band.  Just my opinion, though.  Since Axsuckle has the tendency to be a complete jerk to anyone else with talent.

I've been contemplating buying the album.  I used to be partial to Axle.  I just don't want to think of myself driving down the road one day with a mullet flowing proudly from under my helmet.

meh...I'll probably get flamed for this, but I can't be the only one that thinks axel rose's voice ruins the sound of the group.  The music's good, the lyrics are fine, but that voice.  It reminds me of a perpetually whining valley girl.   :icon_confused:
Something is wrong with my twin...all of a sudden it's V shaped!  Wait, no, now it's a triple!  ...and I IZ NOT a postwhore!

oramac...it's not so bad when you have perspective.  Listen to a few of these for perspective:

I think it's an alright album, if you pretend it's not GNR (but some new band, instead).  Axel just can't hold the same octave range as he could in his younger days, and it's kind of sad.  I found myself missing at least a few screams or something/anything.  Just doesn't sound like the GNR that I remember.  There was one song, I think, that really reminded me of that gravel-in-the-throat sound.  But, there was one that I think was sung by a geriatric during a colonoscopy.

I guess you never really CAN go back home.

I think heavy metal is turning into the same thing that rap did a few years ago ... you know the type ...
A few super educated super rich clowns who try to act like they are from the street ... pay people to write them the rough lyrics ... I lived on the street ... there was a cop on my beat ... we heard he was down to eat ... then we beat his ass to death ... yea ... I'm from the streets, I'm bad ass ... what ... taco bell is calling their taco 79 cents ... OK here meet my lawyers. We sue you for trademark infringement.
Same idiots now running the heavy metal scene. Next thing I'll see is bail out for rappers cos they were investors in a financial system.
