Besides, nobody would do a motorcycle death race for pink slips when the prize is a GS! I mean it's a great bike but after the loser stacks it it will be worth basically nothing.

No it's not.
It has 2 seats and looks to be water cooled.
It has a big a$$ radiator on the front.

Its a hawk as well ... look at that exhaust.
That blue was not stock on a GS till 97 or 98 too ... though painting is not new to the ghey clowns who are on it.

Worst Baywatch clip evar! Had the bike been a gs it would be 10 secs of shame...

That said a gs might not be too bad for racing for pinks.  I mean pretty low risk.  You could win and get a new bike, and if you lost there's a chance that the dude wouldn't want a gs.  You might try to add some gixxer stickers or something to confuse people though.

Observe the step in the seat bodywork between rider and passenger.
See how the frame does not rebend back inwards toward the swingarm pivots as would on a GS.  That, sir, is a Hawk.
Also, note the round hole in the passenger peg strut.
