I searched around and didnt see much on the topic. I am in the process of converting my F to an E. I am not sure what headight will work on the bike and what brackets are needed for mounting. Any help is appreciated, thanks guys.

Aztec headlights look great on some SV's I've seen, and the mounting brackets are practically universal for most bikes.  If you are going for the stock look, then look at the 7" headlights;  But If I were you, for a small price difference, you can go dual lights similar to the buell lightning, which look really good sometimes.
Just depends on what you like.

Otherwise you can keep your eyes open on ebay or here for a headlight bucket probably for 30-$50.  Anything will fit usually with some ingenuity, and some universal headlight brackets from dennis kirk or wherever.

Get some E headlight ears and then get whatever 7" headlight you like from the salvage yard. My headlight is from a 77 yamaha.... It is a bit deeper than the stock headlight, but it was easy to make little tabs to extend the ears and I kind of like how it looks. I had dual headlights on the bike, but they were horrible, so I went with the low cost solution and got a sweet looking headlight from the salvage yard for something like $25...

Ok I am new here and I am used to riding a large bike with full ferring setup...... you are changing from an F modle.... which has windscreen and 3/4 ferring to an E that has no protectin in front?  I am puzzled....... why?  I would die to have the F set-up if I am correct.

Its really just personal preference on the fairing (f model) versus non fairing model (e model). The newer models offer the fairings and the older do not. I think its more the "you want what you dont have" concept causing people to change them. I have a 1990, so no fairings or clip on handlebars (those are from the 1989 model) but would give anything to add fairings and the clip ons!

I like bikes with fairings just the the 500f its quite boxy and I didnt even like them the day I bought it. My fairings are up for sale if you guys want to make the conversion to an F.
