ok so i'm leaning towards the idea of using the gs500 as a learning too to stunt on

what can i do to protect my bike from being torn up too bad

frame sliders bar end weights or whatever its called crankcase cover?

some info would be nice and links on where to get some stuff would be most appreciated.

Um.... I don't know much about protecting the bike. but. I will say that if you are wheelie-ing your gs, be very carful not to set it back down too hard. I did this... and my cam chain jumped a link and bent all my valves. maybe it was just a freak incident. I dont know. Also, the front brake and tire tend to be a bit weak for stoppies. They are still possible but kinda hard. The motor really dosent have as much torque as you would like for stunting in general. The one good thing about the gs is its light weight. Anyway... GS500=not the greatest stunter... but if you try it anyway, have fun, be carefull, and always wear a lid.

If you want to learn to stunt, consider picking up a cheap dirtbike.  It shouldn't cost you more than getting an array of sliders, it'll crash way, way better, and it's a lot lighter (in addition to making it easier to learn on - if you screw up and have a bike fall on you, 'light' will suddenly seem like a very good feature).

yeah i've got me a new lid that is now "SNELL Approved" and i've got aplinestar mesh jacket along with gloves and some boots

i'm pretty set on protection

i know i'll have to change sprocket size to get a better take off or toreque i think

and yeah i'm also looking at a dirtbike too but i'm kind of strapped on cash right now lol

the oil pickup turned to face the rearmost part of the oil pan to allow it to pull oil into the pump even if you're on one wheel.

Yup, cause oil starvation is the pwn, ( which is not good. i wonder how many gixxer engines ive redone where the number three cylinder was ruined, i would tear oen down, see this and ask teh owner how long they were doing wheelies/ stunts. all but one did this on a regular basis, the last oen bought it from one who did

How hard it it to turn it arround like that? Just take the pan off loosen it and flip it arround?

I am stunting my 2004  gs this comming winter. I have engine guards, new handle bars, and a 49 rear sprocket.
Figure its a decent start.........

as for the oil pickup.....that was one of my concerns,........ does turning it 180 actually work ?
