Key problem!

Hi,
I have a GS500F 2007 model. I tried to get my key in the ignition lock today night
and realised that it won't go in all the way. The flap of metal protecting the keyhole
from any random crap that might get in seems to be fine. Its been extremely cold
today here in Baltimore (15F), so I think a drop of water might have gotten in and
frozen. Has anybody faced a problem like this before? If yes, how did you solve it?
If not, any ideas about what else could have happened?

sounds like hte problem, mine did that, and since im a smoker  :nono: i took out my lighter and heated thekey and it went right in

Mind did that and i did the same thing and it worked as well.  Then just go wild with some dry graphite lube and you should be set.

How about a quick squirt of de-icer?

Graphite lube will prevent it reoccurring though, so try that when the weather warms up.

It's a dry graphite-based powder that is commonly used to lubricate lock mechanisms.
