Disc locks are useless as a solitary protection, a hefty hardened chain that is more than 13mm thick (16mm is best),

pass the chain through the frame (not wheels) and to ground anchor or lamp post etc.

Add an alarm with pager that goes off when the bike is touched and you've got a good setup to deter opportunist thieves.

Thieving tools used are bolt/disc cutters,ice sprays and two guys are enough to lift most bikes to a truck and be off.

I have Abus 13mm chain and alarm and I'm still paranoid about leaving my bike out of sight,the bastards here steal everything

I have LoJack on my bike. Yeah it was $700 but you don't have to pay a service fee or anything like that. They also gaurantee that you're bike will be found or they will put a Lojack for free in your next vehicle. The dealership hid it very well because after a year I still can't find it. On the show "Jacked" that was mainly the vehicles they were finding. Because once it is activated it will keep sending out a signal that all pollice vehicle pick up! You can get it for car moto, even your laptop. I also use a disc lock and lock the handle bars. Was thinking about one of the disc locks that emit a high decible chirp to alert you as well.

I've read many articles where the one person who put the LoJack on helped to find a bunch of other motorcycles that were worth well more than it!

im contemplating it for my next vehicle. mainly because there have been two homeinvasions , one not 400ft from my house. the damned meth heads looking for somehting worth stealing worth aome "product" this town, and this world is going to hell in a handbasket, and i pin the blame on everyone. but mainly the thieves. there is a reason why i wont return to phoenix. cause if i do, ill end up in prison for murder 1
a roomate, stole somehting which is irreplaceable ( belonged ot my great grandfather)

bound and gagged with minimum food and water and promise of bodily harm can do alot to a man.  I personally wouldve already been in prison if i were you.  I haev a very dark very violent and very cruel side. Only one person I know personally has witnessed this.  I prefer to keep it that way.
