...or not so much America, but the world in general.  How is it this man and his wife are allowed to live and breed while someone like John Ritter, who spent his life making people laugh, dies at the age of 55 from a heart condition only God knew about?

Ok...  I'm glad I didn't respond to you post after reading the FIRST paragraph. I would have looked like an idiot trying to defend these parents.

What a bunch of tools.

I'm sorry, but the last quote from him has a hint of racism.  I'm not sure why.

I get a lot of flak about my "America sucks" stuff one way or another...but, in reality, even in this situation, America sucks just a little more than the rest because where else in the world would this nonsense be tolerated?  This man gave his child a name which he knew well in advance would cause his family grief.  He should have to deal with the consequences of that decision.  He doesn't deserve to ask "why" when the world looks at him like he's lost his magic helmet.

bucks1605

I like how he tries to say he named his son that because he liked the name and knew no one else would have it. Was that what he was thinking when he named his daughter "JoyceLynn Aryan Nation Campbell?"

And of course to top it all off....WALMART ends up making the cake!

This story really makes me sick, what is this world coming to?

Regarding the "America Sucks" comment....  I've always thought about why other countries hate us so much.

We invade those countries and stick our noses into their business.  That's why.  This country IMO shows a level of arrogance...  A "We are better then tho" attitude is what I see.

Its got nothing to do with america, its just idiots who are probably trying to make money with the names when someone denys them something because of the names.  Freaking people.

no...it's an America thing.  This is the only place where the greater many is forced to tolerate the idiocy and misdeeds of a relative few.

Here in America we are supposed to have the right to do whatever we want so long as we do not interfere with another person's rights.  Heath Campbell has interfered with the rights of every one of his children by naming them in such a way.  And we will tolerate it.

We, as Americans, are tolerating far too much.

The whole freaking country is too pussified, so much so no one ever stands up and says anything of dissent.
The Madoff types in India will first have been handed over to the crowd before getting arrested. There is a serious merit in a "free for all type" justice system. Its a lot cheaper. Now it will cost billions to try him and he'll die 1 week into his sentence and have the country pay for his funeral. Like Ken Lay.

Oh no this will have happened, but when the arrests or the collapse of the scheme happens the first thing you'd see is some suit getting beat up. Then there will be arrests public trials, court ordered confiscation and redistribution and auctioning of the swindlers assets etc etc.

I have a tendency to speak in extremes...this sort of thing has and does happen in other countries, and is reacted to in varrying ways.

The point is that while I feel he has the right to name his child anything he wants, I feel that we should not tolerate his feigning ignorance of the devestating effects of his decisions.  It is this that we should not be tolerating.  No one, anywhere, should tolerate such idiocy.

Weston

Poor kid. Idiotic parents ruining a perfectly good kid. I really do feel sorry for him.

flyingmachine

this got to qualify as some sort of child abuse.  If they are not home schooled, I hate to see what it'll say underneath their year book pictures w/ names like that.

commuterdude

this type of thing happens in countries all over the world....but  America has it as a newsworthy event to sell papers.    Nothing a legal name change won't fix.    There are idiot white supremacists all over the world who do likewise stupid stuff....just check out www.stormfront.org for verification.

Mandres

Let the kid change the name or sue the parent for damages once he's old enough.  What's the problem exactly?  Why is this America's fault?  Hell, let the kid's other relatives sue for custody if they think that such harm will be caused.  It's none of the government's business, or ours.

makenzie71

It's deeper than that, Mandres.  We, in America, have the right to name our children what ever we please.  This man could have named his kids sh*tforbrains and, though I would have been angered by it, I would believe he was within his rights just as I do now.

It's this man's refusal to accept responsibility for his decisions that angers me.  Feigning ignorance when he is discriminated against is outrageously insulting.  His decisions have been deliberate and sharp. We should not be in the least willing to tolerate this.

On a side note, though, while the law will not at this time consider it so, it has been proven that while the name doesn't have a direct relation to the outcome of a person, the reactions to a person's traits, such as their name, DO have a tremendous pull on the final outcome.  I believe that the children have been violated, but it's borderline.

utgunslinger13

This is in fact a blatant form of child abuse, just because the parents aren't striking the kid themselves doesn't mean they can do something like name them in such a way as to damage them or their futures! The man snd woman in the article should spend time in jail or at least answer to a mob from the local trailer park they probably live in!

Just by coincidence I got an article about this very situation from my Pops.   The family lives near Allentown, PA  and the father is characterized as a "holocaust denier".   The little boy is 3 and has to be coaxed to answer to his name.   The youngest child is named for Himmler.    A local psychologist termed this as a form of abuse.
