Got 2 new clutch levers and neither fits... Ground one down to fit but it stuck out so far you'd have to have 8 inch fingers to pull it in. Anyone know why parts unlimited got it wrong? Also the lever on bikebandit schematics looks just like ones that don't fit on bike. Here are pics and bikes a 1995 model.

Backs are slightly different.

Top equals new, middle old that didn't work, bottom one that's old and works.

That bottom lever doesn't look stock (which you confirmed by comparing with the Bike Bandit fiche).

My guess is the a previous owner replaced the clutch lever assembly with an aftermarket model. You may need to replace the whole clutch lever assembly, not just the lever arm?  :dunno_white:

By the way, it's a good idea for you to be replacing that clutch lever. The ball on the end is supposed to prevent the lever from piercing you in the event of a crash!

Crap clutch lever assembly sounds expensive...
Oh well it's for the bike so... :)

I normally use GSXR clutch lever assemblies. Levers are more readily available.
If you need the mirror mount, get an assembly from a nakid SV. I have used an SV mount and modded it to fit the GSXR assembly that I had.
Common sense in not very common.

Maybe it'd be cheaper/easier to just buy a lever that fits this clutch lever assembly?

GSrookie500

Stock clutch lever from Suzuki, Part # 57620-01DOO
Free '97 GS500 passed down from older brother. Installed Yoshimura slip-on muffler, K&N drop-in, Katana shock, Metzler Z6 tires, more to come.

Tried it on 3 of the 4 parts fiche sites and it came up with nothing and also i see no numbers close to that on any of my levers.

Anyone know if one of these will work?

or

Link to page with them http://www.bikebandit.com/levers/c/a658113?mg=47574&t=1.
Not sure why there are two or three in each pic but some of those look like they'd work.
