i just got my jets and i put them in but i couldn't find #4 washers so i bought #6...can i use #6 washers?

The Buddha

The washers should be only ~ 1/2 mm thick, the hole sgould be about right for the base of the needle and the OD shouldn't be tto big... so as to interfere with the other holes in the slide.

GRU

well i already put it in and the washer fits but i don't know if it's safe? the washers are thin so that shouldn't be a problem but if nobody knows if the #6 will work then i'm gonna have to find #4's

scratch

Sounds like the washer fits and doesn't cover any holes in the slide. No worries!

But, yeah, ideally go with the #4's just to be safe.

Actually #4 was my option for Keihein carbs. John send me a #4 I think and I told him the ones I use in GS mikuni's were thinnner, and smaller OD, at that time I didn't remember the number. Anyway, #2 is the GS one, #4 are keihein ones. If they are not too large that they get in the way of stuff, and too thick that they take you beyond where you want to be... use it. #4's are much thicker than #2's BTW. #2 are ~ 1/2 mm, #4 are 1 mm or .8 mm or some like that.

i got some pics of the washers and the carbs....

here, you can se how big #6 washers are

on this pic, you can see the hole in the middle where the needle goes through and the two on the sides....when i put the washers and the needle in, those 2 holes on the sides are NOT blocked

and now you can see the needle with washers inside this plastic thing....

will this work??? i don't know much but i don't know why it woulnd't work....what can go wrong?
the reason i'm asking this is because i can't find #4's anywhere...hardware stores have #4's but brass, not stainless steel
thanks

Looks good! Brass would be fine; it's a softer metal, but that's not what we're looking for, we're looking for thickness. The washers you have will work fine.

They are close to #4's... Yes will do in a pinch... so I guess you should pinch your SO before putting it in... Just do it 1 at a time though... 2 of those are huge.
