Today I had the pleasure of serving my first day of Jury Duty which I'm sure did not influence in any way how f*cking annoying a Buell Blast sounds on the freeway while I followed it home!

Peice of sh*t. I was at least 100 ft behind it with my sunroof open and the CD player blasting Peaches (french techno punk porn is best way to describe Peaches)...and It was still deafeningly loud at 85 mph...who knew it could do that speed?  Figured him for a new rider...bit aprehensive moving in traffic, no proper gear below the waist (white tube socks!), oh and that nice shiny MSF STICKER on the back of his helmet!

Some things just shouldn't be loud.

<rant off>

road rage...nah, took in a breath-taking sunset coloring the sky...and was almost able to get the thumping out of my mind...

Now about that Jury duty...

Are you bitter lately Pantablo? Your posts would sometimes indicate it.

some may be due to stress (did I mention JURY DUTY, this week?) and the usual: work, wife, kid stress...but some may come across that way just because I'm short of time and just trying to stay current (although I'm sure a little bitter too...it IS winter here.)

thanks for noticing though...

At least he was on a bike and in front of you.  :P

About a year ago when I was just starting to float around the idea of getting a motor bike, I considered the Buell Blast... But then a few minutes later I looked down and remembered I had boy parts...

You would hate my z1000 with dual TBR cans -teeth chatteringly loud.  I am selling them actually because they hurt my ears.

You will be waiting a while 'cause the seven fit'y isn't coming here any time soon.
You might get one if you travel to the great white north, but then you have to do the DMV shuffle...

Even my girfriend thinks the Blast is girly. I've been slowly trying to convince her to let me teach her how to ride. We passed a Blast and I said something to the effect of, "Those are pretty good beginner bikes, we could rent you one to go ride together" to which she replied, "I'm not getting on that sissy bike. If I'm gonna ride I want to ride a REAL bike". Good girl.

P.S. - Thanks Chris, it was nice meeting you yesterday. BTW, do you have the key?

Likewise, and thanks for the Yuengling.
Hey, there were two keys in the envelope with the title - small possiblity they got knocked out when i dropped the envelope in the pickup bed.

I stood next to one in a bike shop in Tokyo.  Sweet.  I also stood next to, beleive it or not, a Suzuki GS1200ss.  Beautiful, kind of retro.

Lot of great 400s also; pretty much a 400 version of every model line available in the US.  400 cc rules in Japan because they are small and because the higher licensing tiers are apparently pretty difficult to pass.

Interestingly enough, the GS500 has never been sold in Japan as far as I can tell.  I found a parts catalog in English that listed all of the bikes by the big 4 back to the early 1980s and no GS500.  None of the bike shop guys knew what I was talking about :)

Good Lord man, if you EVER have to move to a northern climate where there is REAL winter, I pity you & your family.

I bet a bright, shiny new S4 would cure you.

Don't worry, it'll be over soon.  8)

I like living in the southern latitudes.

Civil or Criminal? How long are you required to serve if you don't get picked?

Here, it's half a day, but they have it pretty well figured out so that the last time I served, 99% of the pool ended up going to vor dier (sp?). The previous time they let us all go after an hour or so because there were no trials starting that half-day.

My wife got summoned last year and postponed it. It so happens that the new date was election day. None of the judges (who are elected) wanted to start a trial on election day so they let everyone go home.

Well, that was a serious thread-jack!  :nono:  Sorry.

I listened to a Buell at the dealer once, sounds like a lawn mower. That was enough to keep me off one. Also at 6' with long legs, I looked like I was on a pocket-bike.

Phew, back on topic

Thanks...I hadn't even looked in the envelope

Sorry Pablo...you can have your thread back now!

Well, it was a civil case. Race discrimination between current employee of L.A. County and her employer. Got excused today...all in all only two days served but it came in the middle of my only week off and completely dissolved any type of vacation-including my wife having to take care of Hugo all day, both days. I have to put in some extra hours now to make up some work I had to get done (on my own schedule as I could) so pretty much the whole week gets blown.

Also, did I forget to mention that I broke my little toe and have tendonitis in my wrist? Yeah, nice and mildly painful but doctor can't do anything about either. Nice.

Buell was in front of me the whole way home...I kept wondering why he kept riding 15 ft behind a SUV that even I couldn't see around, instead of lane splitting and getting well ahead of me.  Bonehead.

A loud inline 4 is a whole 'nother story...that is beautiful music (and won't rattle my fillings loose from 100' away).

Stupid racist bastards :nana: .  In Va we had a case like that with a PE teacher and a student.  The school board sucks up to him major.  Smokes in the teacher lounge, chews during outside days, breaks the rules but has others cover up for him.  Hey; color doesn't matter when your in the dark.

Don't recall Pablo mentioning the outcome of the case or what the verdict was.  Maybe the employer was innocent. :thumb:
