I have a FZ1 and a GS500e...If I ride the FZ1 then in same day ride ths GS it does feel like a mini bike.  Sure a 250 could beat or keep up with me in the twisties, but lets see any of them take me on a long straight away. Where I live and how I drive and what I use my bike for...so what.  I am so much more comfortable on the highway with the FZ1 than the GS, when I ride with a group I dont have to think twice about being left behind. I dont have to be as concerned about getting RPM's up before I pass, merging has become a no brainer.
That being said I'm not the loud muffler, peg dragging, drag racing kind anyway. I like the FZ1 because it is multi-functional, comfortable, power to spare and still fun in the corners.

Stay off you buddies FZ1 unless you are prepared to buy one...you'll love it!!
Enjoy!

i test drove a fz1 and i wasnt a fan. felt to bulky and heavey. maybe its due to my 5'7" body at 165pounds. then i took the fz6 and completely loved it!!! its a very nice bike and fast as hell.

A 250 what will beat an FZ1 in the twisties ... a 250 GP bike ... you do know those make 60-75 hp and weigh 200 lb right. I'd like to see someone take on an FZ1 types in the twisties with a 250 rebel.
Cool.

You should check out the Kawasaki Z750S or the Z750. 107hp, fuel injection, good looking bike. I love mine. it hauls A$$ but is comfortable enough to ride all day.

What about a ZZR600 as an alternative to the SV?? It's carbed though, and I dunno if FI was one of the things you were wanting. Just putting my .02 out there.

the zzr has a pretty aggressive position. if i confused the part about comfort, please excuse me :)

everything i've read so far has said the zzr is extremely comfortable for a 600. although it may be that "for a 600" part that's the magic words.
