I didn't post pics because I'm on my phone. Will find tonight. No ADD, just a sweet deal on a certified mechanic owned, minty fresh NA 944 pushing almost 200hp with a 928 tranny and new racing clutch sittin on what have to be the cleanest cheese grater wheels in history.

oh I love the 750SS's!  And I love 944's!  I hate DME relays!  I love removable skyroofs but I HATE DME RELAYS!

spc

I've pretty well fallen for this 944, the removable roof is pretty slick, but I really like how it handles

DME relays can suck from what I hear, but not nearly as bad as an unmaintained engine popping a timing belt and bending valves.

hotrodstu77

ya i've worked on a timing belt on those  >:( they suck. but im pretty much in love with your duc. why does everyone with a nice bike for sale live so far away from canada lol

The timing belt thing isn't really all that big a hassle after you've done it once...it's mostly learning how.  I suggest you do it first thing.

thehandling was crazy sharp with the 944...I loved mine to no end except that it wasn't powerful enough at times to really be competitive.  It made an amazing rally car, but all the road stuff was lacking because it just wasn't hard to make an old school Trueno (most common at the time) throw about twice the horsepower down on a chassis that was 500lbs lighter.

If you ever get a shot at it, drop in a 968 engine...almost straight bolt in...if you love the all-motor thing.  My next 944 will be a 951, though, if I ever get a chance...either that or a 944 with a 7m-GTE stabbed into the engine bay.  I love the transaxle...you can just about stick any motor in the front of the 944 and make it work.  Great stuff.

Ok bike has to go someone make me an offer!!

I'm about 2hrs depending on what road work is going on on 17/170.  Tell any friend you have that are looking for a bike.  I'm not in as big of a rush because I cleared enough space in the garage for it and the 944, but I'd like to put the money back in savings pretty soon.

I 'should' be picking up a 944 this Saturday :woohoo:  I'm actually going with an '88 that will need a paint job at some point but it's not bad and everything else is near mint.

makenzie71

Just make sure it has the Fuchs wheels.  That's all that matters.

spc

Actually, it has the phone dial/cheese graters, and I think they look better on the 944 (no question the Fuchs are sexy as hell on 911's)
