I picked up a new toy(err rather two of em) on saturday.   86 ZX1000's with basket case motors,   which I spent literally a few days assembling one of, just because I want to ride it.   

This was my first full blown motor assembly from absolute scratch, its together, looks like it'll run, hopefully I'm not mistaken here.   its a rebuild job at this,  replacement connecting rods, all new bottom end and big end bearings, different oil pump.  just so many things.    The rebuild was warranted on account of one of the old heads, a bunch of conrods and a crank I found with the motor, which showed a loss of oil pressure, and severely neglected oil(REEKED of burning) but the cases were ok, and I managed to put everything together alright I think. 


I will certainly say, I've learned a LOT more about how to make a motor work in the last 2.5 days than I've learned in a long time.  would I do this again assembling the whole deal in my bedroom?  hell yes.
