What is the best option for increased acceleration and to get the front end off the ground?  Front, rear, both? What about chain length?

godzillaburritomeat

lmao hey that's creative. douchey, but creative. wonder who came up with that one.

I'm not sure if alpha is still around, but this is the thread where he got his 14t front sprocket. Should give you some idea of what to expect if you decide to go with that.

You can use this calculator for chain lengths:

http://tsubaki.com.au/tsscs/chain_length.htm

Center distances I've calculated lately:

16/39T and 110 link center distance is 25.679"

15/39T and 110 link centre distance is 25.827"

14/39T and 110 link center distance is 25.975"

Front sprockets cost much less than rear ones.

14/42T and 110 link center distance is 25.473"

14/39T and 108 link center distance is 25.347"

13/39T and 108 link center distance is 25.494"

14/45T and 112 link center distance is 25.595"

yep i used your chain size on my swap and it worked great gsjack.  From what i have been reading one most definitly will not have any problems with getting the from up in all actuality I may have a hard time keeping it on the ground when slammin gears.

i'd think power ups would be pretty easy now. you could prolly leave it in gear and start it without having to worry about it slipping off the sidestand for 2-3 minutes. ;)

rightfully noted i am always super careful with the wife on when she bought me the bike for a wedding gift it was the first time she was even on a bike.  after about 1500 miles with her on the back she still isnt to hip on twisties or speed just a nice cruise.  I on the other hand love the pep twisties and power...lol.

joshr08, any idea what the top speed is now? Will it power wheelie?

gsJack

Should redline at 140 x 14/16 x 39/45 = 106 mph in 6th gear with 14/45T.   :icon_lol:

Dang!  An' I wuz think'n dropp'n one at front and add'n two at rear with OE chain would be too much.   :icon_eek:  'Course, I don't need t' be do'n wheelies, jus' wanna get off th' line without hav'n to rev 'er-up so high and being so soft on th' clutch.  Th' way stock is, seems kinda like a moped to me, until ya git 'er go'n.
