The new wiki didn't transfer properly. All the links are broken, and the old wiki is still up and kicking with no mention of the new site. Can we come to some sort of agreement on which gs500 wiki we're using and make sure it works correctly?

I'd like to add an article but I'd like to use the correct one.

Pretty sure you'll get a sufficient answer from the boys in charge soon, but please bear in mind that the wiki project (as well as this forum!) on the admin end is run by a few people - and they do this in their spare time.

Yes, the transition might/should have been smoother, but that's a thing of the past which can't be changed. The ultimate goal obviously has to be to have one source of information, running on a stable server.

So just give it some more time - and if you want to help, you can always use the time you'd waste moaning in here by copying the articles from the old to the new wiki! 


My 2 cents as the co-admin of a much smaller German bikers forum and admin of the German GS500 wiki.

I've gotten Sanjay's file and I am currently processing and testing. Once I get it all sorted I'll upload Sanjays stanford acct to this server.

I'll also assign multiple wiki admins.

Edit: In layman's terms, I have the stanford wiki data with me and currently processing it to upload it to wiki for this site. Give me 48 hrs to complete the task, I am testing stuff.

Sorry for my neglect in the transition - the wiki is one of those projects that I do on the side and fell by the wayside when work got too crazy.  When Manjul gets the new wiki running, I'll automatically redirect from the old one for however long (a year or two) and then eventually kill it.

I've been transferring a couple pages as I use the wiki.  Sounds like I should not bother -- you're planning to copy it over all at once?  Or, if you want us users to keep manually transferring the content, please say so.

So you're the guy who controls the site. Do you think we could update the front page to be a little bit more modern, maybe update the links, etc etc. If you want I can start brain storming on how to make http://www.gstwins.com more useful.

lol yeah.. We can update the main site, i hardly ever touch that.
