Hey guys,

Just an update, I ordered my conti road attacks 150/70 from www.americanmototire.com and told them they should give us gstwin guys a discount. Every tire I looked at that was recommended on the wiki had the other gs500 matching tire as a "others who bought this also got..."  Unfortunately I don't think we are getting a discount but here is their reply:

[quotePlease tell the folks at GSTWIN.COM that we greatly appreciate their business. Please let us know if we can be of further assistance. Thanks again.

Anyhow I have to wait 3-5 business days to get it in. This is the first tire that isn't the bt45's so I'm anxious to get out on it and also (even under gsjack's promise) tentative about if it will fit. I'm sure it will though :)

Yep, they're good people to buy tires from. I bought my last set (Avon Roadriders) from them and even mounted them myself, first time I had mounted any tires other than bicycle tires.

So you went with a 150/70 rear? Did you replace the front as well? The conti road attacks are not radials right? Can you post some pictures of the tire once you have mounted them or it on the bike please.

I will be needing to replace my rear pretty soon.

I really want to know if this tire will require any modifications to fit the GS.

Thanks in advance

The RoadAttack is a radial, comes close to the brake torque link, best to put a little bend in the brake link for more clearance, very easy to do.

I didn't replace the stock front as it has plenty of tread left on it, but once I do I will be getting a lasertec as per gsjack

**edit**
Gah, I'm dumb I just realized the BT45 Is Bias so I'll be ordering that lasertec this week  :dunno_white:

wait so the whole radials and bias thing is just a lie? I'm confuzzled

gsJack

Don't mix a radial front with a bias rear.  A bias front with a radial rear can be OK and such fitments are now being made by tire and bike manufacturers.

Alright, so my bt45 on the front should be ok until I can get a lasertec right?
