What is the correct inside diameter for fuel line for the GS500?   Getting ready to go through the bike prior to warmer weather.

On the 2005, the tank connections are 8mm and the frame petcock are 10mm connections. Argh!

So I found I have to use 10mm hose, but if has to be thin walled otherwise its too hard to get onto the tank petcock as the two exit pipes are really close together. If using 10mm pipe, you really have tpo clamp down the tank hoses really tight.

I think the earlier bikes are different though.

Looks like 1/4" will stretch a little and work the best.   6.35mm

5/16 works very nicely - I ordered both 1/4 and 5/16, since 7mm is in between. The 1/4 is hanging on the wall of the garage waiting to spiff up the lawnmower or snowblower, or possibly both. The 5/16 is on the bike. CycleReCyle part II, order 5 feet and get the vent hose while you are at it. Get two feet of 1/8 while you are there and you're set for draining the carb bowls neatly, and setting float levels too.

I used 5/16 inch tygon tubing I think it was 1/4 inch inside    from oreilly auto parts.  it is very flexible, and worked perfectly.  I even cut the sheathing off an old monitor cable, and ran the tubing through it.
