Okay, I love the SV650S and I think I'm gonna get one once I get more proficient with my riding skills.  I believe in customizing a bike, but this is just plain ridiculous!  Granted, it's a beautiful bike, but DAMN!  They coulda bought another SV for all that loot!

There is a little truth to every joke.

That's a great deal at the buy it now price.
Capitola is 20 minutes from Salinas. To bad I don't have the money

That's a gorgeous bike, and it has some very trick goodies and a fantabulous price, but would you bid on something when the seller misspells a word used twice in the description?

Of course, that's assuming that EMACULATE = IMMACULATE.

If I had six large just laying around, I'd be sorely tempted.

You know what is worse is the guy that buys it probably will have more trouble than if he had bought a regular SV. The stock stuff is easier for people and mechanics and shops to work on. The custom, trick stuff they get confused. My home made jet kit on my 90 ended up getting thrown away after I sold it, and they installed a official Dynojet jet kit to fix the bikes problems... which incidentally didn't do anything. The issue... well the girl that bought it took it to the shop to do a "Tune up" a month after she bought it and she basically didn't ride it much... They yanked out the choke cable from the carbs (after I refabbed the cabes so they run along the frame and wont get in the way of taking off the valve cover)... so she had trouble starting it. Then they take the carbs apart, and say the guy has stock jetting in a bike that had K&N pods... and they buy her a jet kit. Finally they fit it back and still the choke cable is disconnected. Then she calls me, I go over to see it, and when I put on the choke... its too loose.. and I say...it looks disconnected. Then I take off the tank and there it is. I connect it... and it still doesn't start as easy as it used to. Anyway I said They screwed up something when They opened the carbs... but it should start and run now. BTW the same morons ripped the tube that was in the tire when they put in new tires for her... and I was getting the old tire and tube back. Right at that point I told her... these guys are useless.... find a different place. Anyway... My motto is... sell bikes very close to stock, heavily modded/custom stuff is for a bike you will never sell. The usual Pipe and jet kit I can see, but the other fancy crap is over kill... Yes I can see people needing money and hence having to sell things... but makes you think... If this guy hadn't spent all the money on it... maybe he would have the 5K+ he wants for it... Makes you think right.

more money than sense. Obviously I could be wrong but this just screams poser. Even racebikes don't have this stuff and they arguably have use for it. but he'll probably take a bath on it.

Many many folks on the SV board have dropped this much into modding their bikes.  For many, it's not about getting top performance, it's about customizing your ride to your tastes.  I don't think he is gonna have a problem with shops working on the bike - most of the mods are cosmetic.  The rear shock he put on bolts on w/o mods & the fork springs and emulators are VERY common on SVs.
Clearly it's a bike that the owner loved very much - it may make more financial sense to have a rat-bike w/ no cosmetic mods, but that's not why this guy is riding.
I DO find it excessive when folks drop 5k into a STREET SV650 motor to get 85-90hp out of it... at that point, they could buy a bike w/ more HP - such as a used SuperHawk for about 5k which makes 85-90hp in a VTWin motor and would be more reliable than an overbored 650.

Who has been smoking what?  This guy obviously doesn't know what MSRP and USED means!  Moron, if you rode it, it's used and costs less.  Gee, maybe I'll go and pay less at a dealership and get a warranty with it too...
This is the same reason I bought my bike off of Ebay instead of paying $2500+ for a used GS on Long Island.

From Newsday:
SUZUKI 2002 SV650, silver, only 100 mi, showrm. $6700.

Now look at it, It went to 4K, didn't meet the guy's reserve and is back at 3500... My mods list on my 89 GS is nearly as long... heck its even longer but they are all parts that crashed out, rusted out, crapped out or just plain wore out or broke or were so irritating to deal with I decided to toss it and modify the rest to work without it. No way I expect anyone to pay me for all that. And fine I yeild on the straight bolt on stuff the bike has. may not be too complicated for the average mechanic... But the guy has just bought stuff off the shelf and bolted it on, so I dont know if it can be called custom. Its bolted on to infinity and back...
