HAHAHAH, thats the exact reason my fiance and I went AZ no FL!  She is a teacher we came here because of the teaching shortages and we were GAURANTEED a job for her.  She was looking for almost 2 years when the school district she is at now came to a job fair at OSU, and she walked out with a contract offer.

Our 90 might not be as hot as FL's 90, but last summer we set a record of consecutive 120+ temps with 32 straight days!  Man you can not imagine how HOT 120 degrees actually is lol the tar holding reflectors in the ground became gooey and if you kicked the reflectors you could pull them up!

The one really cool thing is that we can set our AIR CONDITIONING at 80-83 during the summer and it is still comfortable and cool in the apartment!  And if we wanted to get to a cooler area, we can drive 2 hours to flagstaff and be in Ohio like weather!

What do you mean, drive to Flagstaff to get cool!!?  Just get on your bike and keep moving at 55 or 60+ and you'll be fine.   :icon_lol:
Happiness is a perfectly-revving engine, a cool, windless night, a stretch of empty highway......and the knowledge that the highway patrol is understaffed in your region.

HAHAH my bike doesn't even start yet, although I bet that ride up to flagstaff would be killer!  Its about an 8000 foot elevation change in about 150-200 miles!

Yea, I don't think I'd move there anytime soon.  I think 80 degrees is too hot even in the summer.

The thing I like about being in the northeast is that we do get 4 full seasons.  And thanks to the winters, 50 feels nice and toasty in the spring!

yeah but being originally from the NE, what I grew up thinking 120 feels like is not the same as it feels out here in Phoenix, but it is still hot.  And I'm willing to deal with that for a month to have 60-70 degrees from about october-march!

The Buddha

I hate dry heat. The problem is - I blister. Charlotte's humidity is a lot better for that, sweat is better than boils.
BTW CA vs NC, I would definitely take NC ... even if by a very very very small margin. I like NC summers, I like the NC winters as well, didn't we have 70 degrees mid feb ? however CA weather between april and october its so damn predictable, years in advance you can say its sunny and not a cloud in the sky.
Jobs ... ha ha ha ha ha ... like there is any in NC ...
Cost-a-living yes, acreage, yes, freaking hell, most everything is better including chicks in NC, but for commuting in traffic and for insurance rules on bikes, CA is a beauty. Nothing even comes close.
Cool.
