Questions... (maybe a suggestion? lol)

1: what headlight are you using?

2: Paint the rear brake caliper mount flat black to match front?

3: What bar ends are you using?

4: What gauges?? Vapor?

5: If we ever met, could I hold your hand? Just for a minute? Just to feel special?

Seriously though... I'm truly amazed at the progress you've made with this bike. I love that you've done your research and put your own personal flair to it as well.

Exactly what a custom bike should be.. for the rider, by the rider.

:star: :star: :star: :star: :star: <--- Those are for you to do with as you please. Use them wisely.

1) I am going to use a 5 3/4 dual headlight setup from aztec8

2) Do you mean the rod attached to the swingarm or the aluminum bracket attached to the axle?

3) I am not sure about the bar ends yet.  I'll probably get a set of bar end mirrors.

4) Still unsure about the gauges also.  I have a katana electronic tach that I am thinking of using.  Still need a speedo though.  I may use my Garmin nuvi for the speedo so I can get out and ride.

5) Yes, but only for a minute and it will cost you!

Thanks for the compliments!

i still think u should of got a 4.5 inch wheel as well

I decided last night that I am going to go with a 4.5 rear wheel!   :woohoo:  Just need to locate one.

If anyone is interested in buying a set of GS wheels painted gold with brand new Pirelli Dragon Supercorsas and a brand new EBC rear brake rotor let me know!

im still about 70% sure its never going to hit the road haha.  you will finish it then take it back apart for another upgrade.

did you see your car got sold (or was for sale) again?

HAHA!!  It will be done soon!

They put the car up for sale, but ended up keeping it and buying an 05 WRX drivetrain for it since they tore up second gear in the RS tranny.

Hell, if there's a customizing contest Czoko already won it.  That bike is incredible!  I liked it better before he wrecked the seat, though.  I'd like to see more reasonable custom bike projects myself.  What I mean is, I've seen so many guys to a great job customizing their bikes, like Czoko, but then they decide to go off the deep end and dump a ton more dough and time into it and end up with something that's great for shows, but horrible to ride.

In this case I like the work Charlie's doing and I like that his finished product will retain good rideability but I don't like that it's getting heavier.  I agree with Czoko.  That exhaust is way too heavy.  The whole appeal of the GS 500 is the same as the bikini.. less is more.
V&H pipes, K&N drop-in, seat by KnoPlace.com, 17/39 sprockets, matching grips, fenderectomy, short signals, new mirrors - 10 scariest words: "I'm here from the government and I'm here to help!"

cosmiccharlie

The exhaust isn't that heavy.  As I said before, I like the exhaust so it stays.  I may get tired of it at some point and change it, but not in the forseeable future.  Thanks for the compliments though!

What did this wheel come from ? hayabusa ? kawi of some kind. Its an enkei - I have a pair a 190 rear and 120 front with 99% tars and a flat spot where the genius clobbered or ran over somehting. Anyway, not that it would fit a GS ... not that I would ever dream of that ... never, me ... never.
Cool.
