I threw a rod in my 2002 gs500's engine. I found a cheap engine from a 92 that works great. I have no use for the broken engine. It is sitting down at my mechanics shop waiting to get thrown out so if anybody wants it for any parts they may be able to salvage from it or try to rebuild it let me know. It is near the D.C./Baltimore area. I am not looking to get anything for it, I just hate to see things that may be usefull to someone go to waste.

Part that baby out!

Take the left and right side cases and cylinder head(if its any good) off and I will gladly pay for shipping and your time.

(This is a bit biased, lolzor, but hopefully someone is in your area and can come pick it up)

Dead right..... :thumb:
Have an afternoon tearing it apart then get the bits up on ebay. In addition to what Coll says, people will buy the.......
Cylinder block and pistons (30-50), crank and rods (30), balancer shaft (10), sump (10), clutch (20), oil pump (10), primary and secondary gear shafts (20-30 each), selecter drum and forks (20), shift-shaft and linkage (10), flywheel (20), stator (30), ignition pickups (15), oil and neutral switches (5), starter motor (20), timing chain and tensioner (20), inlet rubbers (10). Prices in brackets are roughly what used parts go for here in the UK. Get it right and with some luck you can make 300ish from a blown/siezed engine dependant on whats good and saleable.

The engine is in beltsville. I don't really want to part it out and sell it, I got a really good deal on the replacement engine(only $350 with only 7100 miles on it) so the least I can do is hook somebody up with parts they might need, kind of a pay it foward thing. I also don't really have the mechanical know how to take it apart. The engine ways somewhere around 140 lbs.
