So my wife and I's anniversary is next month and I was looking at going to St. Augustine for a couple days. Anyone know of a really nice hotel there? I've found a few online but am well aware that the gorgeous photos and elaborate descriptions can often be a beautiful lie (I have experience of this from our honeymoon and I'm not looking for a repeat........neither is my wife for that matter lol). Anyway, I've got everything else pretty much planned out but a NICE hotel is the most important thing. the Hilton Historic Bayfront and Casa Monica were the two I've checked out so far, anyone heard anything about them? please help!

We went down there 2 years ago and stayed at the World Golf Village.
I was just wonderful but then again I do love to play golf so take it for what it is.

I've been there several times. It's just a few hours a way from me! The small bed and breakfast's are superb! Also, if you like ghost hunting why me and my friend go there often lol! If there is a particular one I can look it up and see if it is one of the ones we went into on the ghost hunts! We stayed at the Holiday Inn was quite nice and had a hot tub after the long nite of hunting them ghosts! Are you taking your bikes down there. Oh yeah go to the light house and don't drink from the Fountain of Youth I got sooo sick and the next day went in the hospital for it! Thought it was going to kill me!

Let me know!

I didn't think of bed and breakfasts, good idea! I thought about the ghost tours, if we have time I might but there's a few others I definitely want to do (horse drawn carriage ride, lighthouse tour, trolley tour, etc.) She's been there before but I haven't and we've been talking about going there together for a while now and this whole thing is going to be a surprise, she usually is pretty impressed when I can actually put together something really nice for her without screwing it up somehow lol

Lol, I'd be happy if a guy would just attempt it. Screw up ok with me! I think St. Augustine would be great. If I get the time I will try to look up one we went into that was very nice. But, supposed to be haunted  :dunno_white: Don't know if you'd want that for the anniversary. The ghost tours usually happen beginning around 7 at night. But, yes do the light house tour.

Here are a few pics from the times I've been there.

trip was awesome! we stayed at the Casa Monica hotel which was so nice and I highly recommend staying there if you can. We visited the castle, went to the potters museum, got some hot chocolate (the first day was freezing!), walked around and looked at the surrounding buildings and bikes (lots of bikes.....bike week and all lol) and then had dinner at the hotel which was unbelievable and desert in the hotel room. the next day we got room service breakfast, again so good! went to the lightner musuem which was pretty cool, then we went to the lighthouse/museum,  and then headed home......but not without making a stop at ikea in orlando. i'll try and post some pics later.

Yeah, that pic does it no justice. And the pics you can get from the top awesome! My goodness making to the top with a heart problem now that was an achievement for me. Felt even better cause I made it up faster than him!

Glad you had a great time. the hot chocolate was it the little booth that had more flavors then Ben & Jerry's. I'm Jonesen for the dark forest hot chocolate with mixed in mint and whipped cream with chocolate shavings. Who needs a guy when you can get that lol! Yeah, St. Augustine is very user friendly. I gotta see if my friend has a picture of my bike in front of the light house. He gave me a framed black & white pic. He did it when me and his girlfriend went to find a Mcdonalds for some chow. What a cool Christmas present def a cool unknow present!

Post up some pics!
