Thought I would fire-up the GS tonight, and it started, but as soon as I shifted gears, it stalled out.  I tried to adjust the clutch cable (on the lever) but only ended up so that it no longer event starts ....  I can only think that the clutch is now sticking to the plate  - preventing the motor from turning over ... anybody know what I can do to resiolve this?

Check that your sidestand is fully retracted.  The safety circuit will kill the engine if it isn't.  That's the usual culprit for "dies instantly when going into gear".  Lubing the sidestand with a little spray lube every now and then so it snaps up makes extending and retracting it easier, and prevents the "partial retraction" issue.

Every zero you add to the tolerance adds a zero to the price.

If the product "fails" will the product liability insurance pay for the "failure" until it turns 18?

And, if that doesn't work, the clutch switch at the handlebar sometimes gives us problems, too.  You'll have to search the database here for details.

Yeap! Probably the at first the problem was what GeeP said. Later, adjusting the clutch cable, you might accidentally removed the clutch switch, under the clutch lever (scratch)

P.S. With a nickname like this, what did you except???  :icon_lol:

Thanks guys,

In the end, it turned out to be both issues.  The stand needed lubing, and the clutch cable was pulled out.  A quick lube and re-inserting the cable and she works great!

I hope to go for a ride tonight!
