Spring and some good riding is coming up.  I wonder if i can propose to  a mod party in someones garage or mine. 
Here are my thoughts.

I would like to do a few modifications on my bike that actually require mechanical skills.    i can change my car oil and tires.. thats about as far as i got mechanical wise..but i am not afraid to grab a wrench and work away..just need to figure out how to put it back together that scares me.

Here are the mods i wanted to do...

New Handlebars..  the SM2.
The sonic springs front suspension
14t sprocket.

I am wondering if anyone here in the Seattle area were thinking of doing the same type of mod and maybe combining our efforts to do a one day upgrade.  I am confident from reading post that i can do these mods on my own..but it would not hurt to have another gs rider around to say maybe we should do this step first..etc....

I am not saying one day upgrade for all the mods.. just one mod at a time..  I will ensure food and drinks (non alcoholic). alcohol part is after we are done with mod.

Yes i know they may be easy..but 2 heads are better than one.. and good company.  any takers?

I am in North Bend. Sort of Seattle area.

I don't intend to do the mods you are planning, but I would be up for a bit of wrenching.

I already installed Progressive springs into my bike a long time ago. Soon I will be tearing into the engine and installing new piston rings.

My garage is a bit of a mess at the moment. I was going to clean it during tomorrow and start on taking the engine apart.

I would be interested. I have already done the springs and bars. Had not really put much thought into changing the sprocket. But I am looking at doing some other maint. Brake pads, install flyscreen, etc.

Forget the lift - you've got a fridge! And we all know what a garage fridge is for.

And a scooter, very nice. Sorry I can't make it. I wish I could cause I need to change my rubbers and wouldn't mind saving the $50 by doing it myself. I have some more work to do on other projects. I hope to get my car on the road soon. I might be up for a get together a little later like in May. I'm down in Olympia. See you on the road.

So while this was a great idea...  i received all those parts and got antsy.  Just installed them all myself.

14t sprocket was too easy.  Outcome was lots and lots of fun..

Handlebar was a bit of problem but was able to resolve.   Outcome was very cool ride and i feel much closer to the bike.. both literally and figuratively.

Lazy way install of Sonic Springs. My braking has greatly improved..aside from that, i only did a 10 minute ride and cant tell much difference yet. i guess i have to wait for the corners.


Loving all of these.. man.. .  its not a joke...  its really really easy to work on a GS.  Well you still need to read up first, once you do that.. the doing becomes very easy.  Thanks to all who post considerably regarding HOW To's.. please please keep doing so.
