Turn signal issue - any ideas?

So I took the bike out today for the first time this season, and since doing the naked conversion. I do not miss those fairings, and the bike ran well except for the turn signals. I noticed that the more my speed/rpms increased, the faster my turn signals blinked. To the point that when I was going freeway speeds (65/70) they basically blinked so fast they just stayed on. Same with the turn signal indicator light. Any ideas? Light changes I made in the mod were the Dominator headlights, and aftermarket signals. Not LEDS.

Smells like your voltage is not regulating, and you're getting high voltage when you run fast. I'd start with hooking a voltmeter on where you can see it when you ride to see if that guess is right, and then I'd check battery contacts for corrosion/resistance (since the battery itself, if well connected, should provide a certain limiting factor), and then it's off to voltage regulator replacement. Here's a more through write-up on checking the charging system:

Then again, it could be as simple as the aftermarket bulbs being smaller than the stock ones, and drawing less current. But the speed sensitivity does not go with that.

Do all your signals work? As you rev up the engine, the voltage coming from the charging system increases. The turn signal flasher shouldn't change speeds because of this, but it might be worth replacing it to see if the problem goes away. Also, take a few minutes to check out your charging system, you could have a problem with it. Perhaps your rectifier is bad and it is dumping too much voltage into the system, or not enough... Stick a multimeter across your battery and rev the bike up. What happens? Does the voltage go way out of spec or never rise or do anything else weird?

Thank you sir, I will get to work.

It was the signal flasher. I checked the voltage based on the link provided and all was good. I had a spare Blazer signal flasher, put it in. Problem gone. Thanks guys.

Sweet! Glad you figured it out.
