Well, my knob is due in tomorrow for the trip meter. Thank goodness! But, Last night was riding home from work and it sputtered so I changed over to reserve! I got four miles before it up and completely died! Yet again I was left pushing my bike at one in the morning on a busy road! Was in bed all day cause my heart didn't take lightly to pushing a 400lb bike for a 1/4 mile!

This did the same thing a couple of months ago but I got 16 miles out before dying! What is going on with my bike!

Sounds like you switched reserve and on hoses last time you put the gas tank on. It is easy to do... Double check everything against the diagram in the service manual and I bet you'll find the problem in a couple of minutes. Also, if you're worried about breaking down, just get AAA motorcycle coverage. They'll come bring you gas or tow your bike just like they will for your car and it doesn't cost too much...

I did that once    Oh,what fun I had :"Out of fuel ? I'll just switch to reserve...........wait for it,wait for it......Ohhh shaZam! !!! "

Pushing a bike is a must have experience, makes you appreciate the marvels of internal combustion engines ( when they have gas  )

In the one and a half years that I have owned the bike the tank has not been off. Unless, maybe you count March of Last year when I took it in for maintanance! Sooo, I think that would have happened more than twice in a year.

Other than these two times I usually get about 35-40 and then it is because I'm certain it is dry not actually running out. According to my calculation I only got about 160 out of this tank where I average about 170 before I hit reserve.


Sooo, what's next. I'm gonna ask the dealer today.

Hey!  Mine did that same thing!  Twice!

I thought it was because I left it on Prime.  I didn't wanna say anything - thought it was a rookie mistake. 


Take it easy on the friggin heart!  It's all I need, for you to go out while you're still mad at me. 

Well, Talked to the dealer and they said "sometimes that just happens". what good is a reserve if it only gets you four miles?!?!?!?

Wladizu it would be un-Christian of me to stay mad at someone. Buuuut don't push me MMMMKAY!
