Bought the knife, off to the gym!!!

spc

repped 270 in plates on rows, nothing astonishing past that.
New addition to the nightstand

Easter is great!  Well, as long as you aren't Jesus, then it sucks.

I watched History channel almost all day (took breaks for church and a few other errands)

Slightly on topic:  I jumped in the Pcar and sped down the road towards Savannah to a little stand that always has the best stuff ever. (I picked up a Boston Butt and 4lbs of shrimp that were swimming this morning)  On the way there, I noticed a mazda 3 that had apparently taken the traffic circle a little faster than the driver could handle and run up onto the exterior median just enough to get it stuck with one wheel on the grass and one on the concrete.  On my way back they were still there so I stopped and had the kid (couldn't have been much more than 16 and looked like he knew his parents were going to kill him) steer and managed to push it far enough to get it unstuck and then pull it completely off the road.  Not much body damage, but it was leaking oil pretty bad and the CV was completely trashed so he ended having to wait for the tow truck.........just in a slightly safer place. (some jackasses in Porsches like to take those things at 60+)

The knife is ridiculously light and completely invisible in a jean pocket.  I've cut everything I can find with it and it's still razor sharp.

Gym at 0800!!!!!!!!

jetboy287

who makes that knife?

spc

Chris Reeve.  tad pricey, but you get what you pay for.

bettingpython

What .45 did you wind up with terry? Is that a springer or a RIA?
Why didn't you just go the whole way and buy me a f@#king Kawasaki you bastards.

spc

It's an RIA.  I figure I'd get that to break me into the 1911 world, but I kinda like the little (ok, big) sh!t so I'll probably keep it around for a while.  I have this funny notion that a taurus judge might be my next purchase.

sledge

Feck me Tel......if you got picked up in public with a toolkit like that over here you would be looking at a minimum of 5 years.

jetboy287

that is vary nice my friend, vary nice indeed. there is something to be said for being able to throw big bullets down range. is that a single stack mag? i hhought about a 1911 but i ended up with a S&W MP-40 15+1

bettingpython

Yeah I remember you asking about the RIA's now. Great .45's for the price. Need to pick up a couple of blades I need a necker and a couple of clench picks for hideouts. Think I'm gonna go with a coldsteel Tanto as my straight blade since I'm a dealer for them now. Yep Jetboy it's a single stack. I couldn't stand the feel of the m&p.

Here's one thats had just a little work done to it with over 5k down the barrel flawlessly. http://okshooters.com/forums/showpost.php?p=607772&postcount=8

I carry either a tauras pt1911 or a para ordnance p10-45. Depends on what I'm wearing. Sledge police here where I live don't even blink when you hand them your permit, they'll usually talk guns and BS with you for a minute or 2 then send you on down the road.
Why didn't you just go the whole way and buy me a f@#king Kawasaki you bastards.

spc

Cold Steel makes an awesome blade, especially for the price.  If you're OK with spending a few bucks, the Chris Reeve PS (the one I just bought) makes an awesome neck knife.  The knife itself is dead on 3oz and the kydex sheath is a hair under so you're talking less than 6oz total.  I carry it in my pocket most of the time and it makes absolutely 0 print.  In the next few weeks I'm either buying the Chris Reeve Yarborough, Pacific or Neil Roberts (name for the first SEAL to die in Afghanistan) They are all equally capable tactical fixed blades.

So you're a cold steel dealer?????  I've been thinking about grabbing one of their machetes, I'll let you know when I drop the hammer on that.

No duty to inform here so you don't even have to tell the popo that you're carrying.
Yep, it's an 8rd single stack Wilson Combat int that picture.  Honestly, if you can't drop your target in 9rds of .45..........well, you're fuched.

Sledge, if I lived in your country I would absolutely abide by the law.............and be an incredibly restless young man.

Anyone else going to a tea party wednesday?

bettingpython

Yeah I gotta scrape together enough to make a wholesale order still for my first order then I can reorder with only a $250 minimum. We have some laws on carrying knifes that preclude carrying a standard combat knife blade shape. no bowies, dirks or daggers. The tanto being single edged and not having a the classic bowie shape of a k-bar makes it ideal plus as thrusting blade it's ideal fore the gross motor skill movements taught in most self defense combat courses.

I have a cousin down by charleston want's us to come visiit this summer but it pisses me off South Carolina isn't reciprocal with our permits. I can carry in every state from here to their but have to stop at the border and unload em. Oh yeah the wifes permit is in, need to get her to take some force on force training classes with me, I could use the refresher and she could use the training.

Speaking of which you going back in the service or planning on hooking up with a civillian contractor?

Ok rambling on now if the wife and I head out east this summer we'll give you a shout.

Why didn't you just go the whole way and buy me a f@#king Kawasaki you bastards.

South Carolina SUCKS for CWP.  There are 2 people in the state that process them and one was fired like 6 months ago and they've yet to hire a replacement.  We're a 90 day shall issue, but it's taking them 120+ if you don't Buddha Loves You to a Senator :icon_mrgreen:  Doesn't New Hampshire issue permits to non-residents that are valid in like 30 states?  I think it's like $500 in filing fees though.

That sucks about knife restrictions :cookoo:  Don't have that BS here.  OK would probably frown on this little gem
http://www.chrisreeve.com/pacific.htm   That's the one of the three that I'm leaning towards the most.

I'm still toying with a few ideas, but I'm going to hit a few more fitness goals before I go anywhere.  I am obsessed at this point.  The Army is waiting with open arms, but I'm talking to a few others.  One of my lift buddies was recon and he keeps trying to get me to go MC.  I've given it a lot of thought, but the real killer is the longer training that would be just enough time for me to lose a ton of mass :icon_confused:  If I can get my run in check, I'd be eligible for Ranger school.  Dunno, like I said I've got a few more goals to hit first.   The fun hasn't even started yet.  Afcrapistan is just going to get hotter over the next few years, NK seems intent on reopening a half century old conflict and god knows what would happen if China called their loans.

spc

Lift was all arms today.  Tricep extensions, reverse grip curls and wrist curls.  Stayed pretty even on triceps.........12 sets of 10-30 weight from 120(warm up) to 150 (3x30 peak)
reverse grip curls, 10 count coming down.  10 sets of 10 from 50-90.
wrist curls, 8 sets of 10-20 peak at 20x155.

bettingpython

Yeah that's a sweet knife but that clip point is just too bowie esque to risk. I'd take one in a heartbeat though when I get to buying stuff just because I want it not because I am in need of it.

There's a group out of united states shooting academy here in tulsa putting together private security teams for counter piracy operations. They already have some heavy duty private security operations up and running. Wish I was 20 years younger and knew then what I know now. I would signed on that dotted line gone 11B and shot for my goals, done my 20 then collected my retirement and played in civillian life with the private contractors.
Why didn't you just go the whole way and buy me a f@#king Kawasaki you bastards.

spc

Anti-piracy isn't going to pan out.  Shipping co's aren't going to drop the kind of dough PS commands when their insurance will just cover any losses and USN will swoop in to save the day.  Those SEALs set a precedent that's going to be hard to back out of now.   I'm not terribly fond of water anyway, but put me in the mountains and I'm a happy man.  I love going to Pine Mtn GA just north of Benning and laughing my ass off about half way up when I pass all the Ranger wannabe's that are half dead.  The trail is a bit of a killer (23 miles and you end up climbing a total of 15k feet because it winds up and down the mtn side so much)

I've got a few friends that are heading out on voluntary in the next few months, they're making me jealeous :icon_confused:  Patience is the key here, if I hold out and hit my PT goals I'll have a lot better shot of earning one of these when I go back in

I know 2 guys who recently washed out of selection, both because they weren't physically strong enough.  (both had 300 APFT's)

Good friend of mine is a retired Lt. Colonel, he did a hitch as an enlisted then got his college degree and went back in as an officer. His enlisted years were pre SFAS he wound up tasked Delta for 2 years said he loved it then he got out to save his marriage, long story short on day 91 of his seperation from service she filed for divorce. So the offer of another stripe (E7) was no longer there he was gonna have to start again. He finally got his degree, in just over 5 years so he had to do Boot all over again when he went back in. He did 10 of the last 12 days of SFAS with a compund fracture of the meta tarsals in his left foot, they finally pulled him on medical when the foot was swollen so bad that he couldnt get the largest boot made on his foot. He woke up in the hospital and they wanted to amputate his leg the infection was so bad. He couldn't afford to recycle through SFAS because of his age he needed to make rank fast to stay in so he went off and wound up with a really odd career.

I love hearing the little 'kids' at the Army recruiters office talk about how bad ass they're gonna be and how they're going to be just fine if they get the 18x contract.  They must've missed the page of data indicating that the average q course grad is 26.

The old school SF guys are awesome.  I got a taste of that in BCT, we had a Top who enlisted just a few years after Vietnam ended (enlisted at 17) and got trained by all the Vet SF'ers.  He was one crazy fool, but a really great leader.

Did my first bench press competition. ROFL!!!! it was sad...so sad. I got disqualified. Oh well, there's always next year.

I HATE bench!!!!!!!  HATE IT, HATE IT, HATE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What did you press/attempt?

Didn't go over 495 on shrugs today, my grip was fuched from working my forearms. Blasted the hell out of my forearms and got a decent calf workout in,  peaked 110 reverse straight bar curls with a 5 count coming down.
