I was looking at some of the honda cb 750 cafe racers. Took the stock seventies cb 750 turned it into a cafe racer. Just curious if there is anything out there that can work for a gs500e.

This post has some pics of my stock 1990 gs500e.

What do you want it to look like? Dig around and find pictures of other member's bikes that you like...

So, you want clip on bars, a really really uncomfortable seat and dual shocks on the outside of your swingarm instead of a single one? I guess that is all stuff that is doable. Start searching around here, there are all kinds of mods that people have documented well, some of which might be doing bits and pieces of what you want. You could also just go get an old honda like the one in your picture. The hipsters have driven up the price of those bikes, but if you're willing to put work into fixing one up, you could probably get one for less than $1000...

If you want the 60/70s cafe-racer style look its probably best to start with a 60/70s bike.

XS650 yamaha's and GR650 suzuki's make for great flat track and cafe racer replica bikes.
Perimeter frame and the single shock make it un suitable ... sorta.
Cool.

I really like the looks of the old GL1000's turned cafe style. I almost bought one instead of the gs when I was looking for a bike.

talk to quiktaco as his bike looks a lot like that if you ask me.  it may be more of a streetfighter, but it's pretty close if you ask me.  throw a cafe style windscreen on his and it looks almost exactly like that.
