Go to http://www.metzelermoto.com/# and click on the Roadtec Z6 Presentation.  It looks like a Flash thingie, so this may not be a good idea on a dial-up connection.

On the "Performance" page it makes the following comparisons with the Z4, with 100 representing the current Z4 capability:

Stability: 105
Mileage: 100
Dry Handling: 120
Dry Grip: 120
Wet Handling: 130
Wet Grip: 130

Sounds like you got reliable info....

cool...
and if the Z2/Z4 combo outlast the bt45s before...then this should mean that its better than the bt45s right???

If you read all the feedback from GSJack and others, these radials will far outlast the BT45s and will handle at least as well.

However, although the Z6 is (or will be?) available in stock size for the front (110/70ZR17), the smallest size for the rear is 150/70ZR17.  You would have to decide whether it's worth going so wide on the rear rim.

If you don't mind being the guinea pig, I'm sure we would all love to hear how well the Z6 tires fit and perform.  Otherwise, you may want to wait for another guinea pig to come along...!

The problem is the Z6 outperform Z4 front tires, but rear Z2's remains the same... anyway, next time if Z6 price isn't much different than Z4 i will try them...

The Z6 Roadtecs are for sale now at Southwest and Discount.  They are close to the Z4's in price and look very good.  MCN has done a preliminary test on them.

Only problem is rear tire comes in 150/70 min.  There are no exact diminsions available yet that i could find, but if same as Z4 they will be tight fit on rear.  Might have to grind Brake torque rod a bit for clearance.

Metzeler approved use of 150/70 Z4 on 3.5" rim, but don't know yet if they will approve Z6 same.

I was all set to go with the AV45/46 tires on the 02 GS and now they got me thinking again.  :dunno:

Uh, too bad I came to know that too late, however Z4/Z2 behaves great, except for a few slips I felt during first winter rain, but roads are greasy prior to the rains as well as new tires, so, let's wear them out and get the Z6s...

That's true Luke, so... Now I know 150 can fit the rear rim I may stick to Z4/Z4, I love that tread pattern...
