Does anyone know of a good place on Long Island to mount tires?  I really want to try the Shinko tire, not really for the price but they get rave reviews everywhere.  Shinko runs the mold and rubber from Yokohama (bought when Yokohama went under I believe).  I don't mind paying for tires, but my local stealership wanted over 500 for a set of run-of-the-mill 160 rear (Kat wheel) and 120 tires.  Ummm...no?  Any and all suggestions would be appreciated.  Also does anyone know of a salvage yard for bikes on Long Island?  Looking for various parts and have always had good luck at salvage yards in colorado but now that I live on Long Island I have no idea where to go.

Thanks guys,
Ryan

My suggestion...move. :icon_lol:

You left Colorado for Long Island? :cookoo: What happened...lost a bet? Got tired of the cold winters? Really hate John Denver music?

You've moved to the most expensive place in the U.S. to live. Get used to getting robbed. I spent 6 months (during the winter) in Colorado Springs and I was ready to nail my feet to the ground...this coming from a native Georgian who HATES the winter.

Didn't really have much of a choice...was 24, stuck with tons of student loan debt and no degree.  I love Colorado and have every intention of moving back once I graduate from graduate school.  But it does afford me more spending $$ on my GS since I'm stuck living with the parentals.  Not so bad...but I know nothing of the motorcycle scene here.  Hoping there's a local on here who can offer some advice.  Or if anyone has any of the following parts:

2001-2003 F4I tail (seats/plastics/light, etc)
Any aftermarket exhaust that'll deepen the tone so I'm not riding a nice bike that sounds like my neighbor's lawnmower from 1985.
