As you guys know I've had a lot of health issues. Today, I got some more wonderful news from the doctors. They did an ultrasound on my thyroid and I have a cyst/tumor on it. My primary doctor is very concerned about it. Apparently, people get nodules on the thyroid commonly but thats the think nodules usually not just one which can mean it is cancerous. I have to go to the ENT on Monday and have it biopsied. Just what I need a needle to the throat!

Please, Pray this is really nothing. I really don't think I could handle the "C" word on top of all of this. I'm strong but I don't think that strong.

Never doubt how strong you are.  The strength you need is there, you just don't use it all the time, so you forget you have it.  It's like the last 1/2 inch of throttle on your bike.

You CAN move mountains, if need be, and you CAN handle whatever comes your way!

Saying a prayer now...

On those days when life is a little too much and nothing seems to be going right, I pause for a moment to ponder the wise last words of my grandfather:  "I wonder where the mother bear is?"

They're just checking a block, Mary.  My wife was once tested for a brain tumor based on a prognosis from a blood test.  She jumped to conclusions and cried for a week.  Stop doing the same thing.
They're just checking a block.

Good luck Mary, I hope everything works out and Wladziu is right!

Wladizu I do my research I know "usually" it isn't but my 'luck' if you will has always been less than steller. And while usually none of this medical stuff has ever phased me I don't know why but my gut said something else. I mean I've been shocked with a defibrillator in a hospital and drove three hours home two hours later. I've rolled trucks, been hit by a car, been on a heart transplant floor, had a pulmonary embolism, 3 DVT which included partial occlusion of my jugular vein and complete occlusion of my cephalic vein, Chron's disease, Colitis, inguinal hernia the size of a baseball, three medi-ports, two implanted defibrillators one which was recalled, endometrieosis, ovarian cyst, adrenal failure, two knee surgeries, pneumonia with 105 temp, botched catheritazation where was released too soon bleed out barely made it to the hospital, V-tach, a-fib, and tons more I can't remember.

This has never 'scared' me deep down. Sometime premonition is right what I'm saying is this is the first time I've EVER been the least bit scared and I think that says something.

While I do believe in the health care model it has saved my life countless times. I also believe that God Heals too. No one will ever change that! Doubt my God however you will but He has been the one there with me when I wasn't quite sure I'd get out of a few of those ICUs. God has provided for me everything I have "needed" not what I "wanted". This to I will get through and it will be God that gives me the strength to get through it whatever it may be.

Well put Mary, and this is coming from someone who just recently found Him.  A year ago, my response would have been the same calling it "superstition".  My biggest thing was just BELIEVING in the church, the community and the peace that it can bring.  I think believing as you do, it will give you the strength to face whatever you need to.  You are obviously strong to have went through so much in such a short time, just think of it as another notch on the belt lol

And on the other hand, knowledge is by far your greatest resource right now.  I'm amazed at what good doctors can accomplish, and I'm sure that whatever the results of your test the medical staff will be able to get you good as new - or as good as you can be with all those prior hospitalizations! lol

I wish you all the best and all you'd wish yourself. It scared the crap out of me when i had to go for a brain scan and the concern beforehand was far worse than the reality.
Good luck and best wishes.

Godspeed, Mary.

Boy, have I been lucky.  To date, infant pneumonia requiring two shots to get my heart going again twice, (remember Pulp Fiction?) broken collar bone at 7 from football, stitches in my hand at 15 after bike carb mishap, two cracked ribs at 24 from a car accident, then knee arthroscopy to clean-up hockey and car accident damage.  Nothing in the past 22 years but a sore back from years of hockey.  That's a much shorter list!
V&H pipes, K&N drop-in, seat by KnoPlace.com, 17/39 sprockets, matching grips, fenderectomy, short signals, new mirrors - 10 scariest words: "I'm here from the government and I'm here to help!"
