Okay, serious gear question going on here... When I went to the bike shop where I bought my bike and tried to buy a leather jacket, I couldn't find one that fit - I am "well endowed" naturally.

Did anyone in my same situation go with tailored leathers, and if so, where did you go?  How much?  I bought a Joe Rocket and the Large fits great, but I would like to look into leathers eventually.

Thanks for your help.

oh yeah, forgot...definitely go with leathers. better than textiles; if you can afford it its worth it. I see plenty of women sportbikers around and they're wearing full leathers so I'm sure you can find something "off-the-rack" :thumb:

hello...i don't have any personal experience on that particular aspect, but my housemate's situation might help.  she is full figured, so to speak, and she went with the womens Hein Gericke tribal jacket.  it was cut for a woman's figure and she liked it a lot.  she did have to go through a couple try's finding a jacket that fit her right though.  i had the problem of finding a leather jacket tight enough around my body yet long enough in the sleaves.  we ended up trying on several jackets before deciding and then going online to find the best deal to make the order.
hope that helps.  oh and here is a website that might help.  i bought a jacket off this site.  great prices and fantastic service.  you will have to pay import charges to the u.s. government, but for my $300 jacket, the import tax was only $50.
some people can find lots of jackets that fit, but for me it was a real problem.  some manufacturers items don't fit particular body styles.  so again, my advice is to try on as many jackets in the flesh as you can, then go online and find it cheap as possible.

I will say Buy a leather jacket!! After my accident, I am scared to put on textiles... Leather might be expensive, but hey it is worth!

Womens' jacket are difficult to find! They dont have any varieties... Especially cute one (Yes, I love to be girly when I ride my bike!)! Also, I am very very tiny, so I ended up to customize my motorcycle two piece suits! (I went to Zleather in Huntington Beach, and they make a good one!) Yeah, it costs much (I paid $1500, but I believe for a jacket.. it will be around $500), but it fits great and you can wear gear which is totally different from other girls! I will plan to make another customize jacket soon. (Girls really love my suits! I will put my pic when I have a chance...)

I have the same problem with pants.  Being well endowed is a cross to bear.

I could say something totally inappropriate and put a link to a medical condition...  Let's just say there are men who look like Rich500's badger  :o

On topic though... I wish manufacturers would give more choices in sizes... people vary way too much!  I hate getting clothes that are a couple sizes too big just so I can get something to fit the length of my arms :P  Cars don't fit me right either.

Anne fits perfectly in mens small jackets but then again she isn't as "robust" as you are.  You are stuck shopping for girls jackets.

Randi,
Your timing couldn't be more appropriate. I pickd up this months issue of T.W.O magazine (feb 04) and it has an article devoted to womens gear. The mag isn't easy to find since its a UK magazine-most likely available in better bookstores or a really good magazine stand/shop.

It reminded me that Alpiinestars has a whole line for women. All their jacket/pant/suit models have alternate models that start with 4w (get it?), tailored special for women.

Also check out

www.moto-direct.co.uk ("Dyno Race" by RST only one peice suit on market)

Look up CLover gear as they make womens gear specifically too.

Triumph makes some women specific jackets too...Try them on at the San Juan Capistrano Triumph dealership (and view my future bike....)

Good luck.

You could possibly also contact Bill at "Barnacle Bill's" (www.racingleather.com) and find out if he can alter an off the rack leather jacket for you.  He makes custom one-piece leather suits & tailors suits also.
I bet whatever jacket you find to fit your chest will be too long in the arms & too large in the waist perhaps.
www.newenough.com might have a page for women's items now also.

Hey Randi, try San Diego Leathers.  I think their website is
www.sandiegoleather.com, but maybe use a search engine to be sure.
They have a good selection and everything comes in sizes for the ladies.  Good luck.
