I'm looking for some simple twin headlights for my gs500. Its got a racing belly pan so just thought I add more to the look by putting some twins on the front to make it look a bit different. Never done it before so wondering how to go about it. Any tips as I guess a few people have done it.
Current - 1991 Suzuki GS500E choked to 33bhp ( mini spear indicators upfront, engine scoop, 20mm rear suspension increase, iridium sparks, clip on bars and a few other little bits )

I'm thinking about this mod as well and I've found there's a couple of different ways you can go.  My choice is mounting dual angel eyes which fit within the current headlight bracket when mounted horizontally.  The setup is pretty simple and only requires some minimal modification to the wiring.  The lights others have used are the Hella Optilux 2500 and I think they look pretty sick.

I got the Dominators from Fly N Cycle. Easy install and decent price for lights and bracket. http://www.flyncycle.com/

I've also installed the dominators, got them off ebay. I found that with the standard brackets the dominators were a bit too long as they hit the indicator bracket with the bottom of the light. But by removing the bottom bolt from the headlight bracket and moving the bottom forward slightly I was able to get the lights to fit easily. Haven't had any issues with only using the one bolt yet, I figured I'd try it and if it was a problem just drill another bolt hole but I didn't need to. Wiring just plugs straight in, hardest bit was getting the wires out of the old headlight.

Spent the better part of my work day yesterday trying to track down the Lightning parts for this mod.   I think I am going to order the Buell stuff soon.  These two headlights look so much better than one IMO.  The two housings match the tach and speedo.  I love all the pics guys.  Keep em coming.

The mascot of the GS500.. The creature that's got the biggest ugliest a$$ of them all.
A wombat. It's got a big ugly a$$ too.

How do these Dominators or Optilux 2500's compare to original single 7" headlight in luminosity at night ?

I've been told the optilux's throw out more light, but I've never experienced it firsthand.

I've been very happy with the Hella's.  They have very good output if you use a relay when hooking them up.  Without the relay I found them to be yellowish and dim since they won't get the full 12v needed.

Here's a mock up of my install.  I hacked the wiring harness that came with the lights to make it work.

ATL, you used a relay instead of a diode?  what type of relay did you use?

I should have said "relays" as there are two.  One is hooked up to the unused accessory wires from inside the headlight housing.  The other is triggered by the HI switch.  This way when on HI, both are on.  With key on in low only one is on.  This setup works really well.  No diode to mess with and I think it's a cleaner, better performing setup than the diode too.

Good luck.

This is the type of relay.
